NEWS AND OTHER BLESSINGS

Good morning!  Such a pretty day here in So. California.   Yesterday, my sister's daughter Michelle gave birth to Jacob Scott.  What a blessing it was to be there and share in all of their joy.  He weighed 8 pounds, 2 oz. and mother and baby are doing great.  Should be going home some time today.  It was the quickest labor I have ever seen, and it had it's pros and cons.  The pros are obvious of course.  No one ever feels like hours and hours of hard labor.  But the stress of everything moving quickly is large, and then there was no time for an epidural for pain, and the baby had a few minor problems do to his quick entrance, but all is well that ends well.  Here is a picture of this little sweetie.

SOO PRECIOUS

Other than that, my incision is healing very nicely.  I had to keep it dry for a couple of days and it sure was nice to hop into my shower this morning.  Don't realize how much I love a good, hot shower, haha, until I can't take one.

My dil got her due date when she went to the docs on Wed.  12/12/12!!  Kind of fun huh?  Not real likely they will hit this actual date, but would be kind of neat.  She is experiencing the usual morning sickness etc., but hopefully is through the worst of it.

Hubby and I are going to spend the week-end sorting through cupboards and closets trying to rearrange things to make room for my mom.  Not really looking forward to it I am not going to lie.  Some things will have to be gotten rid of and we have already been kind of ruthless when we moved here in the first place, but at the end of the day they are just things.  What's funny is how much you can accumulate.

My Melody is sick with a BAD cold, and is pretty miserable.  Wish I lived closer to so little Sam could hang out with Grandma for a while so she can rest.  He is quite the mobile little guy.  He has figured out how to open her dresser drawers (for goodness sake Sam! haha) and pulls him self upright using a WALL!  None of my babies ever did that, lol.  I think he just wants to be upright.  They lowered his crib so that his little head is barely peeking over the top now though when he stands up in there...thank goodness.  He sleeps 12 hours or better at night though, praise God, lol, but I think it's because he moves so when he is awake.  He just turned 7 months old and I have to show you the picture she took of him for his monthly one she has been doing as it soooo suits this little guys feel.  This was the best one she could get as he refused to sit still.  I am betting he will be walking by 9 months!  His personality is happy, sweet, and easy.  What a blessing he is!  Praying you feel better soon Mel!

IT IS BLURRY TO BOOT, HAHA, HIS EXPRESSION SEEMS TO BE SAYING, "WHAT MOM,?  I'VE THINGS TO DO!"

I will end this with a verse that has been going round and round in my head and heart this week...

Psalm 28:7  The Lord IS my strength and my shield, my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped, therefore my heart greatly rejoices.  And with my song I will praise Him!

Just doesn't get any better!  Hope you all have a wonderful week-end!

I'll pray about your transition with your mother. It isn't easy, I know.
Sam has the biggest blue eyes, doesn't he? I bet he keeps his momma running, for sure.

  4. Beautiful baby! yeah, fast labors have some drawbacks but I will take them as long as the baby is okay. My daughter is so fast.
I bet it will be hard getting things ready to bring your Mom in, I think that is always hard but a Christ like thing to do.
It is beautiful today here. More like the beach. I hope you have a wonderful weekend too. :)

Yea on your healing...and of course the news on the little man.

Yes, you and I have done a lot of the same craft..that is why you always inspire me to get back in the game...so my Bernina is out on a permanent table again...we will see what happens besides just a purse or pillow.

  6. A big Welcome to Jacob,Scott, he looks so peaceful sleeping , giving thanks for his and mom's safe delivery. I know you were beside yourself being there for the delivery.
So sorry that Mel is not well,, I will pray for her, I relate to wanting to be near, but can't, just got off the phone with Susan and she is not well either. But You and I both know who loves them more than us!!~smile~ God is great! I am with you, Debbie Sam will probably walk at 9 mos. And Mel will be running too! lol.
Debbie , I have been thinking about you and the situation with your mom, and step dad, God truly is our strength. There are so many scripture verses of how God is our strength, I have committed so many to memory, because I am in need of HIS strength all the time! And His supply never runs low.
    Enjoy your weekend.
    Hugs,
    Sue

Deb, I know what you are going through with your mom....My mom lived with us for a while and it is an adjustment, no doubt, for everyone. Praying for you as you make the transition. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you as you make preparations for the days ahead.

I didn't know you had surgery but am glad that you are on the mend now!

And last but certainly not least......Sam is such a cutie!!!!(as usual!)

My oldest daughter has fast labors and she is home after twelve hours-I never had it so easy.
Your mom is blessed to have you and although I know the transition of her moving in(when that time comes)will be hard, you will be blessed. Hope you have a good weekend.

  9. Congratulations on another special little guy born into your family. I am so sorry that I missed seeing that you needed surgery. I am so thankful that you are healing nicely. Life is full of so many ups and downs, and after reading through your last few posts, I am reminded again, of how much I enjoy reading how you share your heart and life. It is just refreshing to read through it all, and I can relate to much of it. Thanks for blogging.

  10. Welcome to the world baby Jacob! He's a beautiful addition to your family, and I'm glad mother and son are doing well. I'll bet your sister is over the moon.

Wouldn't it be fun if your DIL actually did deliver on that day? My sister had a son on 9/5/95. We thought that was cool, but 12/12/12
    is much cooler!

    And...
If you have had that header for a while, and I'm just noticing it now, blame the hair color... but I loved it at first sight this morning. You could frame that, scripture included of course.

  11. Oh, I just love babies! Jacob is darling and that Sam ...well, he is amazingly cute. I know how you feel being so far away though. My niece Kristin and her husband Kevin had their baby a little over a week ago. I've been so busy making 19 photo books for each of the children in our class for end of year gifts. So I've been MIA for the past 10 days!

I hope to catch up on my favorite blogs this week though.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie

Hey ... MY daughter was born on 12/12. She then had HER daughter on 12/12. Now (after a divorce, & 13 years of being a single mother) she is marrying a man we all love dearly. Guess when? 12/12/12!

Gotta love these random little lovelies, huh?
