WEEK-END HAPPENINGS AND SOME EXCITING NEWS!

Hope you all had a good week-end, I know I sure did!  : - )   Friday night found us at my parents.  My step dad was not up to cards, but we sure had some GREAT conversations.  We somehow found ourselves traveling down memory lane, and spent close to 3 hours talking about years and times gone by.  Can't tell you how much I love conversations like that.  My hubby did get the closet door fixed, and a couple of other little things they needed done too, so that was good.

On Sat., hubby and I really should have spent some time organizing more closets and stuff, but for "some reason" (they are not hard to think of, haha) we decided to just relax and enjoy our day together instead.  Sooo, we started with lunch out at our favorite restaurant and had a wonderous sea food salad.  The food and the company were hard to beat.  And after that we went to the movies and saw What to expect when you are expecting.  I was very entertained.  Pretty much exactly what you might expect from a movie like this.  It suited my mood just fine.  After that we headed over to my oldest son's house and spent a little time there visiting, and left there with this little face....

JEFFIE

We were planning on going to a picnic with the church Sun. afternoon, and just knew all the cousins would have a good time hanging out together, so he came home to spend the night with us so he could go too.  How I enjoy him!!  He was such a good boy.  One of his teeth was just hanging by a thread, and it actually just fell out of his mouth on the way down to San Diego, haha. I somehow managed to keep track of the tiny little thing so the tooth fairy could make a visit last night.

Here are a few pictures of the picnic.  It was such a glorious day.  Perfect (in the shade, a little warm if you weren't) weather, tasty food, and great fellowship.

PUTTING CAPRI'S CLOAK ON....SHE WAS SOO EXCITED!

HOW DARLING IS SHE?  I BROUGHT ALONG SCISSORS TO CUT THE ARM HOLES SHOULD SHE WANT THEM, BUT SHE DEFINITELY DID NOT, HAHA...I AM GLAD SHE WAS SOO PLEASED...

And now for the exciting news!!  We have decided to make a trip out to New Mexico to visit Mel and Mike and little Sam over Memorial Day week-end.  YAY!!  We will be leaving EARLY on Thursday morning to hit the road, get there Thursday evening, and stay through Mon night and leave for home EARLY Tues morning.  I am soo looking forward to it.  They are having Sam dedicated on Sun. morning, and we really wanted to be there for the special occasion, so it all works out well.  I am of course praying all goes well here at home with my parents while we are gone.  Sam has changed soo much in the last 3 months since we have seen him, and they have painted and put in new carpet etc. which I am eager to see too.  Sooo here is a picture of this little face that is waiting for us.

HE WAS SOO PLEASED WITH HIMSELF HERE, HAHA  CAN'T WAIT TO KISS THOSE LITTLE CHEEKS
SUCH LOVE.....PRICELESS

LOVE THEM!
Well needless to say I will probably not do any more posting until we are back.  I will be bringing along my lap top though, so you never know.  Either way, I will be around to visit as usual.  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

  16. I guess you won't see this until you get back since you are already on your very excellent adventure! I know fully well how wonderful it is to be spending time with your family, and I'm sure Sam just squealed and bobbed when he saw your face and heard your voice. I saw the post below about the cloak before I read this one so I was excited to see her model it. It's adorable, and I love the way the hood sort of makes a heart shape around her face. If that wasn't planned, it is a wonderful bonus.

    You have beautiful grandchildren.
As if I had to tell you that...
