THANKSGIVING WEEK...

It seems as though I have been working towards this day for weeks now....maybe it's because I have, haha.  I had a BIG list of things I needed to do before we take off tomorrow for New Mexico to spend Thanksgiving with Melody and her family.  Their Christmas blanket is made...

Love the colors in this one...
Their Christmas coasters...

I thought the fabric was darling, and they are soo practical too!

Close up
And then every year for the last 4 or 5 I think we have given each family a personalized Christmas ornament, and then individual ones for the grandkids.  Here are Mike's & Mel's, and little Sam's...

I have such a good time picking out each family's ornaments...they are all different, so I will show the other family's later

Couldn't resist this one for Sam when I saw it as he is soo into Mickey right now..

Adorable
And I did find a nativity soft book to make up for Sam though it is not a Mary Engelbriet, it is really good too.

Loved the colors

Tells the Christmas story really well.

And then this year we decided to get one of those books where your voice is recorded reading it.  This came out MUCH better than I had hoped for.  It is read by both Grandpa and Grandma and I am hoping they ALL enjoy them.  It was VERY fun recording this for some reason.  Here is Sam's...

Mickey and his friends for Sam

A look at the inside
Then of course their was the Christmas Mickey Mouse shirt, and the Mickey Mouse blanket for Sam I made as well, that I have already shown you.  We did manage to deck all the halls over here this week-end too.  Soo glad to have that all done as it will be nice to come home after our trip and have it all up ready to enjoy.  It was REALLY weird taking down my Thanksgiving and Fall decorations BEFORE Thanksgiving which was the very first time I have done that in my 38 years of marriage, haha.  But guess there is a first for everything.  I still have a little shopping to do, last minute laundry, and all my packing in addition to getting mom packed and over to my sisters's house.  Thank goodness my cleaning ladies come today so I am not adding that chore to my list too.

But what I REALLY wanted to blog about today was my reflections on this last year and how much I have to be grateful for.  And there is just sooo much.  I have been keeping a daily log on the side of this blog for the month of November, but it really just scratches the surface.  I just soo feel the Lord has so blessed me that at times I feel a little overwhelmed.  Everywhere we look, IN SPITE OF, the trials, sorrows, and troubles (and there have been many) the Lord's Hand is everywhere.  In the beauty of nature, cherished family and friends, and His peace, protection, grace, and mercy.  I want to wish everyone of you a wonderful Thanksgiving day, and may the Lord bless and keep you all!

Just wanted to thank you for all of your prayers for my niece Michelle and my sister and their family.  They are all sooo grateful!  Michelle is home now and recovering from her surgery and they are awaiting the appointment with the oncologist to learn about the next part of her treatment.  Your continued prayers are appreciated more than you can imagine.  I want to show you a picture of Michelle and little Jacob.  His little face says it all.

Such a happy boy!

  7. Look at all those wonderful treasures and all made by the hands of a special, special grandmother and mother.
You have been on my heart this season a lot...in fact I have even said, Lord you gave her a lot this year...as if he didn't know, but I also said, "and she walked it out with such grace"

You have because you have a personal relationship with the King of King and not just a religion.

Thanks for sharing..and I will continue to pray!
    Have fun!!!!!!!!!

I love what you've done for Christmas. I'm a "personalize it" kind of gal.

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots and lots of grandma time. I have't taken down the fall decorations yet, but come Friday... GAME ON.
