BABY TIME!

This will be quick as hubby is on his way home and we will leave for San Diego as soon as he gets here as it looks like it is BABY TIME!!  Soo exciting.  It is one thing that I am sure will never be common place or ordinary.  Poor Larissa has had a hard last few days so I am sure she is good and ready for this baby to be born.  I appreciate any prayers you can say for the safe arrival of little Mr. Vincent James.  Can't wait to see him!  Melody was soo counting on him having made his appearance when she is here next week, so it looks as if that is going to happen.  YAY!!

Meanwhile, as usual, I spoke too soon!  I went to make my second tree block today and it went twice as fast and I actually enjoyed every minute of it.  Soo I decided to press on and just finish it up.  I did not do it exactly according to their pattern, (already being defiant! haha) but I do like the way it turned out.  I went to the quilting store to pick up some more white fabric (I am not very good at  guessing figuring out how much I need) and brought my little piece along and as the gal there who has been so helpful, I asked her to critique it.  She knows I am basically teaching myself and am therefore not real sure what I am doing, haha.  She told me it looked wonderful (she might have just been being nice, lol) and said that it looked as good as any of her students in her intermediate class.  She did suggest another way to iron and told me to get a little bottle of their scented starch spray.  I went home and finished it and ironed my other ones with a little bit of starch as well and they look wonderful now too.  I am SUPER pleased with the way the tree runner came out.  The ironing and starching tip REALLY helped.  I took a pic at an angle so hope you can see it well enough!  Maybe some day I will get my good camera out so you can actually SEE the fabric, haha.

I WILL EVENTUALLY DO THE BINDING IN THE SAME COLOR AS THE LITTLE RED TRIANGLES!

I also wanted to tell you that this morning as I was reading my emails I noticed an add from JoAnne's and they had the Oliso iron I had been wanting on a one day only sale, only online, and free shipping as well.  I did research the iron that Kris had suggested, but had decided I really wanted to try the Oliso. Anyway!  My hubby said to go ahead and order it, and it would just be an early birthday present!  I was soo excited.  So now I will be watching the mail for my new iron.

Hubby is sitting in traffic so hopefully the baby lets grandma and grandpa get there in time!  Hope you all have a wonderful week-end.  I will post news of the baby when I can!  Blessings, Debbie

  4. Go woman, Go! Put down the fabric and get your Super Granny cape out and fly out the door!

I know you are so excited, and the extra blessing of having him safely arrived when the rest of the family gets here next week is icing on the cake. We'll expect some pictures at some point, of course. What we know for sure is that if he looks like the rest of your brood, he will be a handsome little thing.

  5. How exciting - your new little one is almost here! Yay!! I'm praying for a safe delivery ... and that he'll wait until you get there before he makes his appearance. I can't wait to "see" him!

That runner turned out beautifully!! Your fretting was for naught ... it's gorgeous! I think using that red for the binding will REALLY make the whole thing "pop".

  7. Since I already know the baby news, I'll just pray for health and well being.

That table runner is as cute as can be. I only recently learned the difference between pressing and ironing and the benefits of using a good starch. It really does help!
