WEEK-END WRAP UP

I never do this as quickly as I'd like, because I am just too gabby I guess, but I am going to seriously TRY as I have a lot I want to get busy with this morning.  But I want to tell you all about my busy, GOOD week-end.  I have to back up to  Friday though which is really not all that good of a story, but it is where the week-end started.  OK, I was still having such allergic issues with the one medication that I had been taking so I managed to talk to not only the doc I decided I don't really care for again, but MY regular doc called me as well and I managed to talk to him for a while.  It's funny isn't it how some doc's just have a way of putting your mind at ease, and he is just really good at this for me.  He did prescribe something for me to take for the itching, but truthfully I never did take it.  I was so afraid that it would make me drowsy and sleepy and it was just the last way I felt like spending my busy week-end so I just kind of put up with the itching.  OH, and I think I forgot to mention that the specialist called me on Thursday evening with a report that I did indeed have an infection after-all (they had run a culture) and so that was why I was experiencing a lot of the symptoms I have been.  I didn't know if I should have been annoyed that this wasn't discovered in the first place, or relieved that there was now an explanation for why I had been feeling the way I was.  I chose relieved...however I am of course now taking a round of antibiotics for that as well.  I am continuing on with the rest of the tests as well just to make sure that's all it was, so we will see.  I just HATE medications.  I have to be pushed all the way up to a wall before I will take so much as a Tylenol.  It just seems to me they cause as many issues as the "problem" did in the first place.  But of course they do have their place, so I try to weigh and measure things out...but definitely not a "take this pill" and feel better gal over here.  Ok, ENOUGH about all of this.

Sat. morning I woke up to phone calls, emails, facebook messages and texts, (not to mention my FAVORITE breakfast) as it was my 59th birthday.  The countdown year, haha.  We had planned a very simple day as honestly I had no idea how I might be feeling.  I was definitely still kind of itchy, but I moved along pretty well.  We started the day by driving over to my sewing machine store and purchasing another new hoop for my machine.  It came with the two most basic, and then of course there is always more you can purchase.  I chose the smallest one as I have lots of things in mind for it.  Then we went by Bath and Body Works so I could pick out some scented lotions, sprays and candles.  This is how my hubby birthday shops and it works well for both of us, haha.  After that we hit my favorite restaurant for lunch and followed it up with a movie.  Relaxing, and entertaining, and just what I felt like.  After that we stopped by my oldest son's house and I opened my present from them (a wonderous smelling Fall pumpkin candle) and visited with all of them for a while.  Then we left there taking little Jeffie with us.  After stopping and getting him a quick hair cut we went out to eat at a restaurant called the Octopus.  It was REALLY good Japanese food and we all had a good time.  We came home after that (finally! haha) and we all watched the movie Flica on TV while having a little bowl of strawberries with whip cream!  Soo good.  All in all a perfect day (minus the itching).  Sunday we got up and went down to San Diego for church.  After church we took Jeffie and JD out to lunch where JD talked Grandpa into letting him open his birthday present.  He was having a party later that day but Grandpa figured where was the harm in letting him open it then, haha.  After that we went over to my son's MIL'S for the birthday party and spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying our time over there. The kids swam and the adults chatted and visited and watched the Chargers WIN their football game, haha. James and his family gave me their gift for my birthday as well so that was nice.  All in all a GOOD week-end.  As I laid in bed last night counting my blessings and planning out my week I realized I probably don't have as much time to complete everything I want to get made before the holidays actually made.  How can it possibly be Oct. already?  I decided this morning I will have to make a list of what to start with in order of importance, but then again EVERYTHING is important, haha.  I have another runner I am going to start with this morning, and a few new ideas on how to quilt it so I am anxious to get going.  I am grateful that the itching is HUGELY better (in fact almost gone!) so that is good.  Seems kind of scary it takes that long to get out of your system however, but I am not going to dwell on that.  What I am going to dwell on is how blessed I feel like I am, and how much I have to be grateful for.  Hope you all have a good week.  I am going to post MANY pictures now, as like I have said many times, it is how I document pictures now, and there are just soo many cute ones to get in.

  2. Glad you are feeling better...When your feeling bad you kind of want them to find out the cause (I have felt crazy at times cause I would feel terrible yet MD would say all was well....then later find the cause) You got the right attitude, just be thankful things are resolving. I love how you pile in a lot of living into your weekends, think of all the memories you are making. Hope your week is good Blessings

I love how you document your life in pictures, and your pictures are mostly of your beautiful grandchildren. I think that says volumes about you. Your grandchildren are the most wonderful part of your life. Mine would be too! (And that little ABC picture just cracked me up. So cute!)
