WEEK-END WRAP UP

Well it's Monday morning again and there is a lot on my "to do" list this morning!  I need to be quick with this post..think I will pull it off?
MEL AND JESS

Our week-end was fast and busy and good.  Nothing to unusual went on over here.  I did spend some time at the sewing machine this week-end which I don't usually do though I guess.  I try to give it a break on the week-end to rest my back for one thing ~ I can feel it if I sit there TOO long ~ but also cuz my hubby is off and it's time to focus more on spending time with him.  But today is my nieces birthday and we have been invited to her birthday dinner celebration and I wanted to whip her up something with the new machine. This gal does soo much for everyone ~ including my hair every six weeks! ~ and is just as sweet as she can be. I call her jokingly "my little taste of Mel" haha.  The girls grew up not only as cousins but the best of friends and were together constantly.  They are just soo similar!  In the way they talk, their senses of humor, their mannerisms, and their body types etc.  Seriously, I do LOVE any time I get hanging out with this girl!  I had a million ideas of what I could make her, but I wanted it to be something that incorporated both my new founded love for quilting, and the embroidery side of my new machine.  However, there was not enough time for anything too involved, haha.  I settled on some quilted hot pads and matching kitchen towels with embroidery on them.  Honestly they were soo quick, easy and fun.  The teacher did warn me when I was starting with tee-shirts that they were A LOT more difficult, but I always have been a little on the stubborn and defiant side!  But had I followed her advice, I would have enjoyed this a lot sooner.  I found a picture of something I liked on Pintrest for the hot pads, and just copied it, haha.    However! I did just recently buy my first official pattern, so guess I will try do that soon.  If I can follow a pattern, there will be NO stopping me. Or should I say WHEN I figure it out!  ~ grin ~  Anyway, here they are.  I am pretty sure Jess never reads my blog, so I feel pretty safe putting it on here...

LOVING THE COLORS.....THE FIRST ONE IS SHOWING THE BACK....NOT SURE WHY I DID TOOK THE PIC LIKE THAT! HAHA

HERE IS THE FRONT OF THAT ONE

THE BACK OF THE OTHER
AND WITH THE TOWELS.....THE SIMPLE EMBROIDERY DESIGNS CAME FROM AUNT MARTHA'S COLLECTION....MOM ALWAYS USED AND LOVED HER COLLECTION....SOO CUTE!    YOU CAN SEE THAT THE FABRIC IS PINNED THERE AT THE BOTTOM, STILL NEED TO FINISH THAT UP TOO
I also found a darling design of a pregnant girl I want to put on the front of a bib apron, but am not sure I will get that done in time for tonight or not.   Can't wait to show you though as it is soo cute!  I have a couple of appointments this morning so I need to run.  Hope you all have a wonderful day.....ONLY 3 days now till I see these cute little faces.....which reminds me Sam's jammies are only half done too.  Just not enough time in the days, but I am grateful for every minute!  Blessings!  Debbie

IN THEIR "SKE-TON" JAMMIES AS SAM CALLS THEM!

ALL READY FOR CHURCH SUNDAY!

  1. Debbie, I can only imagine your excitement in seeing those precious little boys this week. I get to see my youngest granddaughter next week for Grandparent's Day at her school. It's been too long since seeing her except on FaceTime. I do hope those knees are feeling better. Love your little sewing projects.

  3. How nice and I love the pictures today. I can't believe how fast the baby is growing.
    You are just so blessed.
I hope you have a fun week and you get every thing made that you want to get made. I knew Pastor Chuck was sick but it was still a shock when I heard it. We learned so much from His ministry and I have always loved the ministries of Calvary Chapel.
So glad you are going to a new Bible Study. I am so glad you are feeling better.

  9. My shoulders are completely scrunched after seeing the ske-ton picture!! Do you know how hard it is to type with scrunched shoulders? Go ahead, try it. I dare ya.

Your family, immediate and extended is just full of gorgeous people. I mean that sincerely. I think it every time you post a picture. Just beautiful.

My daughter and niece are best friends just like that. One time, a teacher told them that they were "one person with two bodies". My daughter responded that they were actually "two bodies with one heart."

    Loved that then. Still do.
