WEEK-END WRAP UP!

Soo much activity has been squeezed into the last few days that honestly I am just whipped.  But it is a happy tired that's for sure.

Since the wedding activities were over an hour away, Mike spent most of his time staying out where he was needed.  Melody and the boys stayed with us, which as you can guess, suited us just fine, lol.  We were able to spend LOTS of quality time just loving on those babies and catching up with Mel.  Friday Mel and I and the boys did some shopping and then went out to lunch.  Honestly I couldn't believe how good they were. It made for a very enjoyable time. Haven't shopped for a while with my girl, which I thoroughly enjoyed, even though we mainly just did Target.  There is not a Target near Mel and she has missed that store like no other, haha.  After the babies napped, Jessie came over and hung out for a while which was really nice for the girls to catch up.  The evening was spent enjoying a nice dinner and quiet time with just hubby and I and our girl and her babies.  On Sat. morning we decided to take the babies over to the local Pumpkin Patch, which again Melody does not have one near her.  We all enjoyed that, especially Sam.  He petted the animals, went on his first ever horsie ride, and went down the bouncy slides numerous times.  He was only slightly interested in the actual pumpkins, lol.   Baby Luke was as good as he could be.  After lunch and naps, Melody got herself ready for the wedding.  I tried to talk her into just leaving both babies with us, but she is exclusively nursing Luke, and did not bring her pump.  So we all loaded up and drove to the wedding where Mel nursed the baby and then went on in.  Grandpa and Grandma and the babies headed over to the park then and let Sam run around and play for a good hour and half.  Baby Luke was content to let Grandma hold him and love on him and dozed off for a while too.  After the park we stopped for dinner with both babies. Grandpa and I had our hands full let me tell you.  Not quite sure how our girl pulls that off all the time, but then she is young which I guess explains a lot.  After dinner we got the babies changed and into their jammies and headed back to pick up Melody to drive on home.  Luke was ready to nurse again which worked out well.  It was a late night but both babies were sound asleep when we got there and got easily transferred to their beds.  We were all grateful that worked out so well.  On Sun morning Melody loaded the babies up and headed over to pick up Mike and visit with his family for a few hours.  Grandpa and I rested, lol.  They were back by 4 and then our other sons and their families joined us and we all had pizza and visited the night away.  Didn't climb into our bed until almost 11:30  and I was good and tired by then let me tell you.  But everyone had such a good time.  This morning they packed up there stuff while I sat and rocked Luke and played with little Sam. Soon enough it was time to head out to the airport and drop them off.  I returned the car they borrowed from Mike's grandma, dropped his tux off, and here I am.  I am thinking a brief nap might be in order right after I finish this.  Poor hubby had an early meeting and a LONG day of work ahead of him so I have a feeling it will be an early night for him.  I found myself more than once this week-end thanking God for this time we had together, and soo grateful for His many blessings.  I have lots of sewing to do this week, but tomorrow is soon enough to get going on that.  Blessings to you all, Debbie

  12. What fun to visit here and feel the joy in your words as you shared your beautiful daughter and sweet little grandchildren. The gift of time with loved ones is the best gift of all. And, at 11:30pm, when you finally crawl into bed, I can relate to the tiredness of the moment. I enjoyed each photo.

  13. There is just nothing like time well spent with family and grandchildren. It looks like your little boys had a ball, and how wonderful for you to be there to enjoy it with them. But, it is always good to get home where you can relax and restore the energy required for the next visit. LOL
