A DEVASTATING STORY...PRAYERS NEEDED

Sometimes those things happen in life where you can't help but to question "Why?"  Yesterday was one of those days for the precious Behnke family.  A close friend of my daughter Melody, lost her four month old son, Grant, in a routine surgery yesterday afternoon.  To say my heart is heavy and aching today would be putting it very mildly.  This young woman and her husband have already been through soo much in their 5 short years of marriage it truly seems unbelievable.  Their first daughter, Parker, was born several weeks premature and spent the first four months of her life in ICU.  A couple of surgeries and many anxious moments later she is finally doing really well.  She is on the small side and has some speech issues, but for the most part is an active, normal 3 year old.  God worked many miracles in her young life.  All of this trouble just caused this young couples faith to strengthen, and they have been an inspiration to many.  Then their son was born.  He was happy, healthy and progressing normally when it was discovered that he needed a cranial reshaping surgery to correct a closed suture in his forehead.  It was considered pretty routine, and was all that was needed for him to go on to live a long and completely normal life. They had him at a top children's hospital here in Anaheim and the top pediatric neurosurgeon in So. California was doing his surgery.  At the end of the surgery as they were going to close him up, he began to bleed.  No amount of effort could stop the flow and his little body just couldn't handle the stress and he passed over into the arms of Jesus.  His parents, while completely devastated of course, are handling things surprisingly well as they accept the sovereignty of our mighty God.  I have absolutely no doubt that the Lord will use this precious little angel and the example of his parents to touch the hearts of many and hopefully bring some to salvation. God can and does work all things together for good to those who love Him.  Melody is totally heartbroken for her friend, and is flying in early on Friday with her baby Luke so that she can attend the funeral service Friday night. Mike will fly in with Sam on Monday as planned.  This young woman works for a Christian organization for special needs adults, and her husband is a special needs teacher for third graders.  They are very involved and active at their church.  There are many to support them and cover them in prayer, but my request would be that you all would as well.  These next few days and months will be VERY difficult I am quite sure.  Thank you, and blessings to you all!  Debbie

  4. There are no words. The picture of that little angel and his mommy... I am praying, Debbie. It makes every heart hurt, and where is God? He is right there cuddling that baby boy close and loving his family, knowing their pain, and holding them all close. I will keep praying Debbie, thank you for sharing this.
