A NEW LAP TOP! AND BACK TO SCHOOL...

Well I have done a little visiting TRYING to catch up, but I decided to stop for now (I will proceed later!) as I need to get a post up so I can busy with the rest of my day.  We FINALLY purchased a new laptop on Sat., and to say I am grateful would be putting it very mildly, lol.  You honestly just can't imagine what I have been working with. I have no idea how I didn't just throw in the towel altogether.  Just my stubbornness I guess.  But this new one is a dream.  Soo quick, easy, and nice. Hope I don't spend too much time on here now, because trust me it would be soo easy to do.

I spent most of last week TRYING to get organized about what I was going to do and make for my Christmas sewing.  I came right out and asked all the girls what they would like for me to make them this year for their families, and if Christmas jammies were still something everyone was interested in. I got some answers and at least have a direction to head in.  I honestly can't believe it is already almost Sept.  Time just whips by faster and faster, and I am usually sooo much further along in my Christmas sewing, and I am trying not to fret. It is what it is and I will do my best.

Other then that all I really have are some pretty cute back to school pics of some of the grands.  I remember those days all too well from when I was raising my family.  I used to just love the whole process.  New shoes and backpacks and school supplies, and then the "first day of school" outfit, and some other new clothes as well.  I try to help out a bit with some of the grands wardrobes and needs, as I also recall how hard that was to do sometimes.  I took Jeffie (who at 12 is entering middle school this year in the 7th grade!) shopping and to lunch one day last week, and got him some shorts and t-shirts.  It honestly feels like maybe a couple of years ago at the most that I was working in his KG class, and now here he is SOO grown up.  He has REALLY REALLY changed recently.  Even his voice!  lol.  I also took Cody out to lunch and to one last movie for the summer last week.  I felt pretty good about getting in lots of one on one time this summer with MOST of my grandkids, as it's just not easy when there are soo many of them.  I just sent a little cash home with my son James yesterday to help out with his San Diego brood, but I did make Capri a couple of new skirts last week too.  Let me show you their pics....

WE WILL START WITH SWEET 3 YEAR OLD LUKE....HE HAD SUCH A HARD TIME BECAUSE HIS FIRST DAY WAS NOT UNTIL THURSDAY, AND SAM'S WAS TUES.  HE WANTS TO DO EVERYTHING HIS BIG BROTHER DOES, AND SCHOOL IS NO EXCEPTION, LOL.  HE WILL GO ON TUES AND THURSDAY MORNINGS AT THE SAME SCHOOL SAM WENT TO LAST YEAR FROM 8 UNTIL 10:30.  HIS FIRST DAY WENT SOOO WELL I GUESS.  HE REALLY IS AT AN ADVANTAGE AS HE WATCHED SAM DO THIS ALL LAST YEAR AND HONESTLY JUST COULDN'T WAIT UNTIL HIS TURN.  HE WAS HAPPY, AND CONTENT, AND COULDN'T HAVE DONE BETTER ACCORDING TO HIS TEACHER

LOOK AT HIS EXCITED FACE!  I SUPPOSE CLAIRE WILL WANT TO GO NEXT, LOL

SAM POSED WITH HIM ON LUKES FIRST DAY (sam was already on day 3! lol)  SAM HAD ALREADY GIVEN LUKE ALL THE TIPS HE COULD THINK OF, LOL.  I LOVE THE LOOK ON SAM'S FACE, BUT THE ADORING LOOK LUKE IS GIVING HIS BIG BRO REALLY IS JUST PRICELESS

AND HERE IS SAM ON HIS.....HE COULDN'T HAVE BEEN MORE EXCITED IF HE TRIED.  HE WAS GIDDY.  BOTH OF MELODY'S BOYS ARE SOO EXTROVERTED AND FRIENDLY...kind of like their mama and dad,,,AND IT DOES MAKE THINGS EASIER.... "WHY ARE SOME OF THESE KIDS CRYING MOM?" WAS SAM'S INNOCENT QUESTION.  HE IS IN PRE-K,  HE IS 4 YEARS OLD BUT ONLY A FEW WEEKS FROM 5 SO HE WILL HAVE THE ADVANTAGE OF BEING ONE OF THE OLDER ONES IN HIS CLASS WITH A LATE SEPT BIRTHDAY.  POOR LUKE WILL ALWAYS BE ONE OF THE YOUNGEST WITH A LATE MAY BIRTHDAY, BUT GUESS YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE CUT OFF SOMEWHERE.  AND LUKE HAS THE ADVANTAGE OF WANTING TO FOLLOW SAM SO THAT WILL HELP HIM.  SAM WILL GO TUES - FRIDAY FROM 8 TO 11.  HE IS GOING TO A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL OUT THERE, AND THE WHOLE SCHOOL JUST GOES 4 DAYS A WEEK.  HOW I WOULD HAVE LOVED THAT! MELODY WILL HAVE HER HANDS FULL GETTING THEM BACK AND FORTH AS THEIR SCHOOLS ARE ACROSS TOWN FROM EACH OTHER.  DADDY WILL TAKE SAM ON TUES AND THURSDAY SO THAT SHE CAN TAKE LUKE ON THOSE DAYS.  SHE WILL DO ALL THE PICKING UP.  CLAIRE IS ENJOYING HER TIME HAVING HER MOM AND THE TOYS TO HERSELF, LOL

SOO CUTE....I AM PRAYING FOR A GOOD YEAR FOR THEM BOTH

AND HERE IS 15 YEAR OLD LINDSEY READY FOR HER FIRST DAY OF HER SOPHOMORE YEAR.  THEY WEAR UNIFORMS AT HER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, SO THAT IS A BIG HELP FOR EVERYONE.  SHE MADE THE JV VOLLEYBALL TEAM THIS YEAR AGAIN, AND WAS AGAIN VOTED CAPTAIN.  I AM SOO PROUD OF HER AND WHAT SHE HAS ACCOMPLISHED.  SHE TOOK CHEMISTRY OVER THE SUMMER JUST TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY (even though it is a junior class) AND GOT AN A OF COURSE, LOL  SHE IS VERY FOCUSED!

AND HERE IS MY BIG, HANDSOME JEFFIE....HE IS REALLY STARTING TO LOOK LIKE HIS DAD...
AND 7 YEAR OLD CODY'S FIRST DAY OF SECOND GRADE.  HE IS STILL IN HIS SPECIAL ED CLASS FOR HIS VERY MILD AUTISM , BUT SPENDS AT LEAST HALF OF HIS TIME IN REGULAR MAIN STREAM CLASSES AS WELL.  HE IS DOING SOOOOO WELL.  THEY ALL FEEL THAT THIS MAY BE HIS LAST YEAR IN SPECIAL ED.  IT WOULD BE HARDER TO FIND A HAPPIER MORE CONTENT LITTLE BOY.
The San Diego grands do not start until next week so I will post theirs next week I am sure.  She home schools their children, and then they attend a school two days a week with other home schoolers as well.  Well, guess that's it for now.  I need to get to my sewing machine as I have a few things lined up.  Still no Christmas projects though....yikes!!  Hope you all have a good week!  Blessings to you all!  Debbie

  4. Debbie, those are some very good looking grandkids, every single one. You are such a good grandma and so talented to be able to make things for them that are so special. I loved the look of that little brother looking up to big brother. So sweet!

  5. Oh the grands all just look thrilled to be returning to school. My grands are returning next week and they will be the ones with collected thumbs down. Ha!

Christmas? Golly and I was concerned for all the gals wishing autumn were here. Oh I know, a gal who sews has to get it together sooner rather than later.
