HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM! AND GOD'S GOODNESS

Well, one year ago today at this time I was speeding (somewhat literally!) towards New Mexico to meet my newest grandson Samuel!  Soo much excitement and joy surrounded that day.  I think I have shared with you that my daughter has had some significant female issues that made us wonder rather that day would ever happen.  But  our God is gracious and good and granted us the desire of our hearts with Sam.  I know I have shared MANY MANY pictures over the last year with you, but of course could not let this day go by without a shout out to my precious boy.  Happy birthday sweet Sam and may the Lord bless you and keep you and make His face to shine upon you now and always!

I made him this little shirt he is wearing and for a while it looked like it might be lost in the mail.  I am soo glad it made it there in time for his special day and this picture.  How darling is he?

We will be leaving EARLY on Thursday morning to be there for his big party on Sat.  I am soo thankful that it worked out that we are going to be able to go.  Can't tell you how much this Grandma needs to kiss those little cheeks.  I am sure I will have many MORE pictures to share when we get back.  Mike's dad lives on the dairy too and gets to see this little guy as often as he likes.  He gave him his present last night and Mel sent me a picture of it this morning.  Just had to share it with you too as the joy on his face is hard to miss.

His new John Deere Car...

Our week-end was soo busy and fast I am downright tired today, haha.  But it was another good one.  Saturday Jeff and I ran SEVERAL errands trying to get everything done before we leave.  And Sunday it was back down to San Diego.  My dil Larissa and I have birthday's just two days apart so my son decided he would make lunch/dinner for us both on Sun to celebrate.  He made some absolutely delicious Carne Asada with home made guacamole and chips.  It was soo good.  AND!  He made me some gluten free Pazookie for dessert.  How he got this all ready for us to enjoy right after church with everything he has to do on a Sunday morning I don't know, but this mama sure appreciated it.  I got some new movie passes as well.  Soo considering my birthday isn't until Friday, and I have already gotten 3 gifts, I guess I am on a roll, lol.

Today mom and I are taking it easy today just working on some laundry etc.  I did want to share the little devotional I read this morning with my mom.  It is from the book Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.  I think I have shared some of this with you before, and I know several of you also have this book.  It is really just a small part of the quiet time I try to have every day, but it is the easy part to share with mom so I usually do this no matter what.  The book is written (for those of you who don't know) as a love letter from Jesus to us.  I love it.

Live first and foremost in My presence.  Gradually you will become more aware of Me than of people and places around you.  This awareness will not detract from your relationships with others.  Instead, it will increase your ability to give love and encouragement to them.  My Peace will permeate your words and demeanor.  You will be active in the world, yet one step removed from it.  You will not be easily shaken, because My enveloping Presence buffers the blow of problems.  This is the path I have set before you.  As you follow it wholeheartedly, you experience abundant Life and Peace.

Psalm 89:15-16  Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!  They walk Oh Lord in the light of Your countenance.  In Your name they rejoice all day long, and in Your righteousness they are exalted.

Psalm 16:8  I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

2 Peter 1:2  Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

This IS exactly what I want to accomplish eventually in my spiritual life.  I can tell you honestly I have experienced it at times.  And it is sooo wonderful to have the storms of life (sometimes just everyday life) raging all around you, and yet you can tangibly feel His presence, His love, His peace, and so no matter what, you know true joy.   You would think that since I have experienced this I would never move away from it, and yet obviously in my human sinful state I do at times.  Praise God He isn't the one who moves, and is always so gentle in His reminders to look to Him.

I pray you all have a good week.  I will not be posting probably until next Monday when we get back.  I will be around to visit as always though.  Blessings to you all.....Debbie

A friend sent me this and it made me smile so thought I'd share it with you...

  2. He's a bouncing baby boy all grins every time I see his picture. That's a fun graphic at the end of your post and says a lot in a humorous way. Very true, too. Enjoy your week and your mini vacation.

My dear Debbie, I love the this card because I have had a tough couple of days with four grands; I always want to be so sweet and have them has the best time but dealing with their tiredness gets a bit tiring(haha). Tell you little Sam Happy Happy Birthday from me. I know you'll have a great time! I wondered about the dessert your family made for you that was g.f.
