FRIDAY RAMBLINGS....

I have a feeling this post is going to be kind of random....I spent most of the day ~ after I got MORE blood work done that is ~ running to a couple of fabric stores and getting the rest of the Christmas flannel I need for the PJ'S.   I am tired.  And!  kind of hot!  It's 84 here today believe it or not...Not exactly the weather to be shopping for flannel, haha.

There are some things I have liked about living in a senior citizens park.  And some things I just don't.  One of the things I don't like is there are NO trick or treaters.  Now I am very certain if I lived in a regular neighborhood and had to jump up every 5 minutes to pass out candy last night, I would have been quite grateful for our quite evening.  But I do enjoy seeing all the little ones and saying hello to neighbors etc.  Of course I could have run over to my oldest son's house and been a part of at least some of my grandkids evenings for sure, but it would have meant a drive over in bumper to bumper traffic, and probably only seen the kids before they rushed out for their evening for about 10 minutes or so anyway, and then had a long drive back.  In our old house we lived about 5 minutes away from them and I would have gone for sure, but guess those days are over.  I did get pictures of everyone, and honestly I am happy with that I think....and here they are....

CODY AND JEFF....CODY DIDN'T WANT TO LOOK AT THE CAMERA, HE WANTED TO GET GOING, LOL

LINDSEY AS MINNIE MOUSE...SOO CUTE!

AND DOWN IN SAN DIEGO WERE CAPRI, DONATELLA  AND JD

JUST HAD TO SHOW YOU A CLOSE UP OF DONATELLA WITH ONE COAT OF MASCARA ON HER LONG LASHES.KIND OF LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE HER AUNT MELODY...OH MY!
AND SAM AND LUKE WENT AS BATMAN AND ROBIN SOO DARLING!  I GUESS SAM WOULD WALK RIGHT IN THE DOOR AFTER HE SAID TRICK OR TREAT, LOL  KIND OF A FRIENDLY BATMAN!
THIS WAS TAKEN AT MY OLDEST SONS HOUSE WITH MY SISTER'S  DAUGHTER MICHELLE AND HER LITTLE FAMILY.  JOE AND MICHELLE GREW UP QUITE CLOSE AS FIRST COUSINS AND ONLY 18 MONTHS APART IN AGE.  THEY HAVE CELEBRATED HALLOWEEN TOGETHER FOR A FEW YEARS NOW.

I have a lot of sewing to get done still, but this week-end I am looking forward to relaxing some.  Hope you all have a restful, good week-end!  Blessings, Debbie

  1. We had no trick or treaters here too! I was prepared just in case as I would hate to turn any child away with an empty bag. I guess I'll bring the candy to work to share with the other teachers as I don't want to eat it. :)

I always enjoy your photos of the kids. And I love to see what you're working on in the sewing department. As you know, my mom was so good at that but I didn't inherit that gene. But I appreciate people who are talented in this area. Maybe one day ...

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie

  4. We had no youngsters this year, or last year. Could be because our street is extra dark.

    Your trick-or-treaters are adorable!

  5. This is just priceless, Debbie, your little trick or treaters are so adorable. What beautiful eye lashes Miss Donatella has, and yes she does favor her aunt Mel.
I had to smile while reading of you wanting trick or treaters, and then if you did, would you not!! .
