LOTS OF STORIES AND WISHES

This has been a LONG, SUPER busy week for me and I am not quite done....If all goes according to my plans today though, I "should" make it, haha.  But if there is one thing I have learned in the last few years it is that NOTHING ALWAYS goes according to "my" plans.  They rest firmly in my God's hands, and that it just where I want them to be.  I don't want that kind of power.  This is just a little side note but one I think is worth mentioning.  My daughter Melody writes a blog, and recently she posted her thoughts on just this subject and she put it just that way....not wanting that kind of power......Funny how the older I get the more I learn things from my children.  Whoever would have thought it?  Anyway, if you have the time you can check that post out HERE.  It is a GOOD read trust me, MUCH quicker than mine, haha.  Soo, back to my week. There are soo many things I want to tell you, and soo many thoughts running through this head of mine that I should really sit down and jot out what the best way to say it all would be.  But then that just wouldn't be me.  I just sit down and write what's on my heart, so I apologize in advance if this comes out jumbled.  I will try and keep it at a reasonable length too, but I am not promising anything.  I have often thought if I just wrote a little something every day, then all of my little stories would be heard and I wouldn't overwhelm you all with length, but then, again, that just wouldn't be me.  So having said ALL OF THIS...let me try and spit this out.

It might not seem like it, but you are going to get the SUPER condensed version of this story....A couple of months ago I was having a problem with what seemed to be an ongoing bladder infection.  Now for me it has been a life long issue so I am VERY used to dealing with it's annoyances trust me.  But this one seemed different so I was sent off to a specialist to get to the bottom of it.  Well, MANY tests later it was discovered that I had a kidney stone causing my immediate problem, and nodules and cysts where they ought not to be. This meant MORE tests, and MORE time running around to them, and meanwhile my immediate problem was still making it's ugly presence known.  The specialist told me I had one month to get rid of that stone on my own or we would be scheduling surgery in December.  I began praying and pleading asking God to spare me from that.  So here is the point of this whole story...HE spared me!  I went to the docs yesterday to get the results of ALL of my various tests and to hear what that pesky stone was doing, and found out NOTHING but good news.  The stone was gone, and everything else is a non-event!  In fact, I look good according to most of those tests.  Now I have one more blood test to check one last thing, but the doc feels that will be the end of it all!  YAY!!  SOO grateful!  I was feeling better, so that was good, but it is always nice to have it confirmed that all is well.

And now this story just HAS to be told too, lol.  Yesterday after finding out my good news, I needed to run by the sewing machine center and pick up some more stabilizer to finish up my towels and get some more threads.  I LOVE standing in front of their thread collections mulling over the possibilities....but I deviate, lol. I got what I needed, chatted with the women there that I have gotten to know now, and headed to my next stop.  Now here is the point of the story.  There is a long, beautiful road that I take back and forth to this store that kind of gives you the feel you are out in the country.  You have to take that where you can get in it in So. California.  Anyway, you can go 55, and I was.  I had lots yet to do.  It was soo pretty with the recent rain and I was soaking it all in and praising God for my good medical news, when it happened.  A woman pulled out from a small residential street right in front of me!  RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!  There was just going to be NO WAY to avoid hitting her, and I was going soo fast!  It would be a BAD accident trust me, and she would have been broadsided on her side, and by someone going REALLY fast!  It's funny how quickly and how much you think in such a short, short, amount of time.  I quickly laid on the horn, ~ seemed important for some reason ~ and then went into what could only be described as a "cat-like" race car driver like maneuver and some how or another I missed her with only tiny, tiny, inches to spare.  Honestly I believe Jesus took the wheel, because if you know me at all, you would know that these kind of skills don't really describe me, lol.  I caught the look of the woman driving the other car as we squealed by each other, and she was as horrified as I was trust me.  Now I did throw things on the floor of the car with my stunt, and somewhat twisted and jerked my neck and back, but when I think of what I was spared, I can only praise God once again for His divine care and protection.  Thank you Jesus!

Now onto to my sewing wrap up.  I did get little Luke's matching shirt done which went a little quicker than Sam's but was still kind of time consuming for me.  But I am VERY pleased with the outcome.

HOPE THEY FIT WELL....THE CUFF'S ON LITTLE LUKE'S WERE SOO TINY!  I WON'T LIE, THEY WERE KIND OF HARD, LOL
And then it was FINALLY onto to the towels.  Let me just say this....towels are soooo easy!  Getting them placed and hooped where I wanted them was a quick breeze and they sew up super nice.  I did both some flour sack ones and some nicer kitchen towels.  I am almost done but I do have just a few more to do...for now anyway, haha.  I do have some sewing to do when we get back.  I also have to whip up the boys blanket it too.  I also need to get our laundry done do we can pack. Today's list of chores is LONG.   Here are some of the towels...

I LIKE THE WAY IT LOOKS ON THE WHITE, BUT THESE TOWELS WERE REALLY KIND OF INEXPENSIVE....NOT SURE HOW THEY WILL WASH UP

I FIGURED OUT THAT THE MORE DENSE DESIGNS WORK REALLY, REALLY, WELL ON THE THICKER NICER TOWELS!  YOU GET A GOOD LOOK HERE ON ONE OF THE VARIEGATED THREADS IN THE BOWS...I LOVE THEM FOR SOME REASON
THIS DENSE DESIGN TOOK A LONG TIME, BUT I WAS SOO PLEASED WITH IT!

BUT I DO LIKE THE MORE SIMPLE DESIGNS ON THEM TOO!

SOME OF THE FLOUR SACKS....WISH I HAD SPENT A LITTLE MORE MONEY ON THE TOWELS THEMSELVES AS THESE ARE KIND OF THIN ETC., BUT THE DESIGNS DID PERK THEM UP A BIT

CLOSER LOOK AT ONE OF THE FLOUR SACKS
Sooo there you have it.  This particular trip to Melody's will be very different from some of our others as my youngest son and his family are going as well.  And because I have been wanting to bring my grandson Jeffie with me to the dairy and the farms for a while ~ such a love for animals and this way of life he has ~ we decided with the other cousins going as well it was a good time to bring him along.  So my 9 year old grandson Jeffie will be traveling with Grandma and Grandpa.  I am hoping a 15 hour drive won't be TOO long for him, haha, but I know he will have a ball with all his cousins once he gets there.  We are also going to stop at my brother's for a night on the way out which we don't usually do either.  He lives in Arizona and we pass right by him, which he pointed out recently seems crazy we don't stop.  So our first day will only be about 6 hours and then we will stop there and have dinner and spend the night at their house.  Makes the next day much more workable.  I am sooo glad Jeffie's family decided to share him on Thanksgiving so he could make this trip with us.  Our middle son will house and dog sit for us while we are gone, and then join my oldest son's family for Thanksgiving, so everyone has a plan.  I am bringing my lap top so IF I get the chance I will try and visit and keep caught up to a degree, but if it doesn't happen I know you will all understand....bet I come back with LOTS of pictures and blog fodder though.

I have soo much I am thankful for this Thanksgiving.  What a year it has been!  But we serve a mighty and awesome God who gives us more than we can ever begin to imagine or comprehend, and His blessings are everywhere we look.  My heart is full this morning, and I wish everyone of you a restful, and wonderful Thanksgiving.  May He richly bless you all!

Eph. 3:20, 21  Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.  AMEN

Love, Debbie

  9. Normally, I get so sidetracked by your handiwork that that's the first thing I comment on. NOT today. God's handiwork in your first two stories steals the show. I am joining you in praise and gratitude for the mighty things He has done in not only healing you but protecting you (and the other driver) in such a supernatural way.

He never ceases to amaze me.
