5 DAYS DOWN....5 TO GO!

LOTS OF KISSING GOING ON

Well it's Monday afternoon July 21, and we are already half way through our visit with Melody.  They are off today visiting with Mike's family and so I am doing some laundry and going through some pictures.  I decided it would be much easier to make two posts out of this visit as sooo much has happened and is going on, then to over load both you and me with doing it all at the same time after they are gone.  Soo let's see....They got here last Wed and the trip was a little wild, lol.  It was an EARLY morning for both the boys, and Luke especially did NOT want to stay seated for the flight, but they finally arrived safe and that's all that really matters.

THE BOYS ENJOYING SOME OF THEIR NEW TOYS
We have had wonderful dinners in and out, hours and hours of conversation, lots of hugging and kissing and just enjoying those boys, and honestly I couldn't be more pleased.  On Friday morning Grandpa and I decided to have a little one on one time with sweet Sam and took him to see the new movie Fire and Rescue.  What fun it was! He was just as good as he could be, which for a 2 year old could have just as easily gone the other way, lol. And we all LOVED the movie, but especially Sam.  He wore his new fireman hat, munched on popcorn and ice cream, and wanted to "do it again!"  lol.  Got a few pics of that...

NICE AND COMFY ON GRANDPA AND SNACKING ON SOME GOLDFISH

WE GOT SAM A LITTLE TRIKE AT THE SECOND HAND BABY STORE NEAR HERE AND HE LOVES IT!  RIDES IT EVERYWHERE.  BEST 15 BUCKS WE EVER SPENT! LOL

MELODY JOY

On Sat. we got together with the extended family to celebrate Melody's birthday, but also to just let everyone get a chance to see them.  It is VERY hard when they come to California for them to get around to see all the family on both sides and all of their friends that are still important to them as well.  We had it here in our clubhouse and honestly I tried to keep it as simple as I could as truthfully those kinds of parties are always soo much work.  And I didn't want to be tired, just enjoying everyone.  We had lots of snack type food, pizza, salads, and cake.  The kids ran (at full speed it seemed, lol) and soo thoroughly enjoyed themselves that they all toppled into bed quite beat when it was over, lol.  I was not far behind them.  I have to thank my sister Diane especially who helped me get the food together, set it all up, and helped clean as well.  I honestly couldn't imagine having done it without her.  Actually, everyone helped clean up and it was most appreciated.  There were 5 of them under 2 so it seemed as if there were babies everywhere.  I was exhausted when I went to bed that night I am not going to lie, and my knees were screaming their protest. But I slept like a rock and woke up yesterday feeling pretty good.  Melody and Mike were gone yesterday most of the day too, so hubby and I got all the food and party things put away, gave the house a much needed vacuum, did a quick grocery shop, and then took a nap!  lol.  I do feel as though we get the lion's share of their time when they are here as they stay here.  That gives us the morning and the evening with them even if they are gone all day.  We have sat up and talked after the babies have gone to bed every night until 11 or 12.  Last night we were ALL in bed by 10:30 though so that was good.  Not used to those late nights, lol.  Thursday our family (my boys and their family's) will have a beach day and then go out to dinner for Melody's actual birthday. I am enjoying it all and NOT dwelling on the fact that it will come to a close soon. They leave bright and early on Friday morning.  I put together a little slide show of the party.  Hope you enjoy.

  9. Love your picture with your grandchildren. Sounds like a wonderful visit. We use to go back to Illinois in the summer to my dad's summer home and I would try to go visit everyone. Then I decided to have a party day when they could all come and visit me, that was so much better. Enjoy the rest of your time with them. So precious, I love the pictures.

  11. So nice to read about your precious family time! I know you're soaking it up and the time is passing quickly. Do you ever plan for some special outing for the day that your guests leave? We find that something to enjoy takes our mind off of the separation. Then it's back home to put the house back together!
