ALMOST FINISHED AND SOME UNBRIDLED JOY!

This is going to have to be quick as it is close to 6 o'clock on Friday night and hubby is due here in any minute and I do TRY to have everything I am working on (which includes blog posts!) done when he is here.  That's "our time" and I do my best to guard it.  I am sooo close to having everything I wanted to have done all finished that I could practically do a jig, lol.  It meant keeping my head down and pressing ever forward but sometimes that's just what you have to do.  I finished up Annabel's jammies (I hadn't made any for her...oh my!) and I remembered I had never put the elastic in Cody's PJ bottoms either so that was first on my list today.  Then I had decided to give all my girls a choice...They could either choose a quilted tree, or a Luke 2:11 scripture picture.  Larissa and Leah both chose the trees, and Melody chose the scripture picture.  Today I made Larissa's tree, and Melody's scripture picture AND two ornaments as well.  It meant working on ornaments while sitting by the embroidery machine as it worked away, but that felt kind of good, lol.  Now I just have to get hubby to frame up the embroidery tonight and that is all done.  I did take a while off yesterday and shopped with my sister for a while, and then picked up Jeffie and Cody for hair cuts.  I thought about taking them to the movies as well, but Jeffie had homework to do so I took them home.  They looked SOO cute, and I intended to take a picture of their little handsome selves, but I forgot, so you'll just have to take my work for it.  The week-end is jammed packed full already, but somewhere in there I will have to make one more tree and I will be ALL done, lol.  Well, all done with everything that needed to be finished by Thanksgiving.  After next week (which will be spent loving on those babies) I will need to make my tree skirt and finish up some ornaments, and buy and wrap just a few presents and that's pretty much it.  Not bad at all.  I tried SOOO hard to have NOTHING in the month of December, but I came pretty close and I am not complaining.  Though it did make me wonder what would have happened had I not given it the good old college try...lol.  Ok, let me show a few of the things...

I COULD TELL YOU A LONG INVOLVED STORY ABOUT THIS DESIGN....BUT I WILL SPARE YOU., LOL  LET ME JUST SAY THIS... THIS ONE IS MINE!  WHICH PROBABLY DOESN'T SEEM THAT BIG AS IT IS A SCRIPTURE AFTER ALL, BUT GETTING THOSE LINES EVENLY SPACED, AND A SQUIGGLE DESIGN THAT FIT AND ON AND ON WAS NOT VERY EASY.  AT LEAST NOT WHEN YOU ARE ME AND ANYTHING THE LEAST BIT ARTISTIC IS WAY WAY OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE, LOL.   HUBBY FRAMED IT FOR ME AND HE DID SUCH A GOOD JOB!

THE TREE I DID TODAY.  FUNNY HOW DIFFERENT FABRIC REALLY CHANGES THE LOOK!
SAME FABRIC MADE THIS ORNAMENT....SUPER CUTE!

HERE IS MY NEW PIANO ARRANGEMENT THIS YEAR WITH MY TREE AND THE SCRIPTURE PICTURE.  LOVE THEM THERE

And then I just had to tell you about Sam.  At just turned 3 he is just at the perfect age to find everything about Christmas magical and exciting.  He understands perfectly that we are celebrating Jesus's birthday, but he adds in the fun of trees, reindeer, and make believe and he is what my husband describes as unbridled joy.  He spends a good deal of his day "pretending" he is Rudolph and flys around and plays elaborate games.  He's been wanting to put their tree up ever since it snowed there as somehow in his little mind they went together.  He brought it up every day till daddy finally gave in last night.  She sent me videos of him "helping" and dancing and just generally being adorable. They waited till Luke was in bed which was probably smart, lol.  Anyway, she took some pictures which I will share.  How on earth she managed to catch the look on his face just as the tree was lit up for the first time I don't know.  But it is just priceless in this grandma's humble opinion, lol.

IS HE ADORABLE OR WHAT? LOL

HAPPY BOY...CAN'T WAIT TO GET MY HANDS ON HIM!

Well hubby was a little late (which worked for me with finishing this, lol) but he just walked in the door so I will sign off for now.  Hope you all enjoy your week-ends, and maybe like Sam we should look for that "unbridled" joy.  Blessings to you all!  Debbie

  9. Debbie, again I am amazed at what you are able to accomplish. And never say you are not artistic. The scripture is beautiful and Hubby did do a great job of framing. I love the little fabric tree and think the piano arrangement is lovely. But, of course, the lite up face of that precious baby boy is priceless. Won't Christmas morning be wonderful! Isn't it a blessing to know your grandchildren are being taught the true meaning of this special season and yet being allowed to be little boys and enjoy all the fun aspects of it as well. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
