I AM ALMOST THERE!!

It's late Thursday afternoon and I am done sewing for the day,and since it's past time to get another post up...here goes.  I have had a busy week it seems just trying hard to get to my goal by Friday.  It was really my goal for LAST Friday, buy hey, better late then never huh?  Seriously, I am definitely pushing to get it all done.  I took Wed. afternoon off though and went and had lunch and a nice long visit with my long time girl friend.  She moved into a new home this summer and has been soo busy
"nesting" we haven't got together much recently.  We're hoping to correct that now and get back to our once a month (at least!) get togethers.  I thank God for her soo much, because if there is somebody who gets me in this world, it's her.  There really is something to be said for having such a long history together.  After our visit I made a trip to Nordstroms to get some new mastectomy bras. Let me tell you, I could tell such funny stories about this experience, but honestly I doubt unless you stand in the shoes I do, you'd get the humor of it much anyway, so I will spare you.  Let me just say this....I've really got my hopes up for these new ones I am trying out. lol  It's been 4 and half years now since that season in my life and honestly I still feel grateful that it all went as well for me as it did.  But these bra dilemmas are here I guess as a daily reminder rather I want it to be or not. lol  And then, last night was women's group and I thoroughly enjoyed that as always.  I thank God for these young women too (they are all pretty young but my sister Danae and I!) and love being able to remember the days when I stood in their shoes.  Again, there is something to be said for "history" and being able to encourage these young women that some things really don't last forever, and to share what my road as a Christian for 40 years has been like.  It's a little out of my comfort zone to go to one of these studies at night (tired...and don't like the freeways after dark!) but I do feel for now that the Lord wants me right where I am at.  It's been warm AGAIN these last couple of days, and I am trying not to complain.  But I'd like to turn off that air conditioner for good, and pull out my winter jeans.  Haven't done it yet though.  It does cool off sooooo nicely at night though, and stays that way till mid day, so that shows the weather has changed at least a little bit if nothing else.  Well, I guess that's all I've got for now, so I will just show you what I've done this week.  If all goes well tomorrow, I will finish up the very last of the grandkid PJ's, pillowcases and/or sheets.  All of my Christmas quilts are done as well.  Next Wed  I will work with my niece and her friend on orders (it is going very well so far!) and then!! hopefully Mon I will start some of the other stuff I was hoping to get to before December is here.  The tree skirt is first, and then I have several ornaments I want to make, and then maybe some towels and hot pads, and maybe even a runner. Think I will get to it all? lol  Yah, I have my doubts too..

IT'S THINGS LIKE THIS THAT KEEP ME FROM BEING DONE, LOL, BUT I CAN'T RESIST.  MY CHARGER FAN JD JUST HAD TO HAVE THIS CHARGER PILLOWCASE DIDN'T HE?  HIS SISTERS GOT FROZEN PILLOWCASES, SO IT SEEMED ONLY FAIR.  PLUS, THE LICENSED FABRIC WAS 30 PERCENT OFF AND I HAD A 25 PERCENT OFF MY TOTAL PURCHASE COUPON AS WELL.  I ALREADY HAD THE WHITE FABRIC AND THE GOLD, MAKING THIS PILLOWCASE ABOUT 3 BUCKS.  SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT HUH?  LOL
AND THIS IS MY 19 YEAR OLD GRANDSON EVAN'S CHRISTMAS PILLOWCASE...YES, I DECIDED TO MAKE THEM FOR THE TEENAGERS TOO, LOL

AND I DECIDED TO MAKE CAPRI'S OUT OF THE SAME FABRIC AS DONATELLAS, BUT STUCK TO THE SHORT SLEEVES I KNOW SHE PREFERS.  SO THESE ARE SISTERS TELLA AND CAPRI.  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS FABRIC!

GOT JD'S DONE.  HE AND LITTLE BROTHER VINNY WILL BE MATCHING!

AND HERE IS VINNY'S CHRISTMAS CRIB SHEET.  JUST THE CUTEST FABRIC...LOVED IT!

OLDEST GRANDSON EVAN'S.  I UNDERSTAND THAT HE LOVES HIS WARM PJ'S FROM GRANDMA STILL, LOL

JUST A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS DIFFERENT FABRIC.

AND THESE ARE JEFFIE'S MADE WITH HIS FAVORITE PENGUINS OF COURSE...WONDER HOW LONG I WILL GET AWAY WITH "CUTESY" FABRIC FOR THIS 10 YEAR OLD BOY!?

JUST A CLOSER LOOK
AND THEN I WHIPPED UP THIS EXTRA ONE FOR DONATELLA...FOR A COUPLE OF REASONS...FIRST, I HAVE HAD THE FABRIC FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS AND I REALLY WANTED TO USE IT, AND SECOND, THE PATTERN I USE FOR HER IS SO QUICK AND EASY IT IS MADE IN ABOUT 45 MINUTES OR SO, SO WHY NOT?

ISN'T THIS CUTE FABRIC?

AND FINALLY THIS CUTE PIC OF MR. LUKE.  HE IS GETTING TO BE SUCH A BIG BOY!  AND SOO MUCH HAPPIER NOW THAT THOSE MOLARS HAVE FINALLY POPPED THROUGH.

Hope you all had a GOOD week....many blessings to you all!  Debbie

  1. You have a wonderful eye for fabric, Deb, I always enjoy seeing what you select. The grands will all be so happy and cozy with their pillowcases and jammies. I particularly like the pattern you use for Donatella's nighty...looks so comfortable with that a-line. Have a good weekend!

  2. Love the Miss Kitty pattern. Perfect patterned fabric for a little girl. I get the whole bra thing, it's been four years for me and I still haven't found one yet that totally "works" for me (comfort mainly my problem) I don't know about you but I love being the 'older woman" to young moms...who would have guessed. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, be blessed

  6. Sounds like you have a good ministry among those younger women. Wish I could send you some cool weather. We have plenty to spare. :-). What is the pattern you used for that darling little dress? I need to make some of those for our littlest granddaughter. So cute and love the fabric. Is it flannel?
