MORE SEWING, AND SOME OLD, OLD PICTURES!

I am going to try and do a post in about 15 minutes.  Think I can?  Yah, me either, lol.  But I am going to try,

I have spent a VERY frustrating day at the machine as I can be SUCH a glue sometimes.  I am trying to make a nightgown from a PDF pattern I found online which is made with knit fabric.  Melody loves the style and the elastic at the bottom so I decided to give it a whirl.  My goodness, what a dunce.  There is basically NO ripping out in knit as it only leaves a hole since I use a super small zig zag stitch to do it.  Anyway, good thing I was using some old stash to practice on before I finally attempted it on the good fabric or who knows how many I might have ruined.  AND!!!!  It's still not right.  It's backwards....she will just have to wear this one that way but I will do this again and again till it's right or it will just drive me nuts, lol.  Let me show you real quick,

IT LOOKS OK I KNOW BUT THIS SHOULD BE THE BACK...SIGH

HERE'S THE WHOLE NIGHTIE
But I did make up a couple of the ones I have made in the past too.  She does like those as well, but just wanted to have a couple of the others too.  Less you think Melody is MAKING me make these frustrating things let me just say the minute she heard I was having trouble she BEGGED me to just leave it alone and not bother.  But you'd think she'd know her mother better by now.  That's not going to happen, lol  Anyway, here is one of the others.

SNAPS UP THE FRONT.
And last Friday I made up a little pair of leggings with a little matching hoodie top.  Again, SOOO popular on Etsy and Instgram shops for the babies, and I was glad I found the pattern.  However we are talking another PDF pattern and I had my issues with this too.  They are just not real thorough in their directions.  The only reason this wasn't more difficult was because except for the hood part, I have made all the other things many times.  It did come out adorable.  Only issue with this so far is Melody posted it on her instagram and several of her girl friends with baby girls are begging her to ask me to make one for them.  They will pay, lol.  But I don't think that's going to happen.  If they saw my pile, they'd know why,  Let me show you.  Oh, and it goes perfectly with the glitter shoes,

LOVED THE FABRIC
And then I wanted to show you really quick some OLD pictures that hubby and I found on Sat.  It is a long sad story of why and how our pictures are in such disarray, but the bottom line is they are.  Our wedding pictures too.  We didn't have a professional photographer so that is part of the problem.  We are trying to put together a slide show for our anniversary party, and it is WAY WAY harder then you might think considering our picture situation.  But I think we found enough that there is enough to put together a semi respectable slide show.  Anyway, let me show you...

ME IN HIGH SHCOOL...ABOUT 15 WEARING MY UNIFORM, LOL

HUBBY'S SENIOR PICTURE

MELODY PUT US SIDE BY SIDE AS SHE WAS ASTONISHED HOW MUCH WE LOOK ALIKE.  WE ARE BOTH 15 IN THESE PICTURES.

SAD THIS IS ABOUT THE BEST OF OUR WEDDING PICTURES.  I WASN'T EVEN LOOKING AT THE CAMERA, LOL

MELODY AND I ON THE WAY TO A BRIDAL SHOWER.  YES, MY HAIR WAS STILL IT'S NATURAL COLOR HERE.  I MUST HAVE BEEN AROUND 39.  MADE HER DRESS HERE TOO.  IT WAS HER NOAH'S ARK DRESS THOUGH YOU CAN'T SEE IT, LOL

AND MY LITTLE MELODY ON HER 3RD BIRTHDAY.  LOOK AT THAT WHITE HAIR!  AND YES, I MADE HER LITTLE DRESS.  SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY IN SOME WAYS AND A LIFETIME AGO IN OTHERS,

This took me 30 minutes not 15 and sorry if there are typo's.  Hubby is pulling into driveway and dinner is not ready!  Hope you all had a good day!  Blessings to you all, Debbie

  2. Always fun to take a journey in the "way back" machine! =D What you're doing with the baby clothes is amazing to me. It must be nearly as challenging as doll clothes. Wonderful from where I sit!

  3. Fun to see the old photos, I love them myself! Melody sure does look like her Momma.
Every time I see a product of your sewing I'm jealous I have no such talent...so I'll just enjoy yours.

    Hugs!

  5. Oh, I love seeing old photos! So many good ones! Even though it's a lot of work, you'll have a great time collecting them for the party. (I am amazed at the likeness between you and your daughter!)

You'd better be careful...you'll have a sewing business before you know it! :)

  8. Hi Debbie, I can't believe how much I've missed in the blogging world over the past year. Your daughter is pregnant with a little girl? I'm so happy for you. Her boys have gotten so big. I remember when she was pregnant for her first child. I am amazed at your talent and the clothing you have made are ADORABABLE! You are one fine seamstress and the pictures...just awesome. You and your daughter look so much alike. Both very beautiful women. Well, I just stopped in tonight to say hi and to catch up. I'm so happy that I did.

My blessings to you and your beautiful family.
    Hugs,
    Alleluiabelle

  9. Hi sweetie, I think you are way to hard on yourself my friend! I loved seeing the photos of you and Melody. What year did you get married in? Your dress reminds me of mine-we were married in 78. Such a lifetime ago. Have a wonderful day! Thanks for your prayers! I appreicate and cherish them.
    Hugs and love! Noreen

  10. Sometimes I'm caught off guard by how much my daughter and I look alike in my old photos. People always say it, but I don't always see it until I see a picture of myself at that same age. Good luck with your slide show. Even with organized photos it's a big job, but worth it!

  11. I loved the old photos Debbie. Good luck on your slide show...I should think about doing something like that myself. Our photos are in such poor shape, I've intended on scanning them and photoshopping them to fix the fading etc but it's at the bottom of a very long to do list. Hope you have a great weekend

  12. I can sure identify with you on the picture situation. Mine are in boxes, drawers, albums and many of the children are in slides. I had hoped to have them corralled onto CD's by now, but alas! I can't believe how much you and Melody looked alike at that age. How special is that! Do some more as you come across them.
