MID-WEEK CATCH UP....

It's pretty early (for blogging anyway!) Wednesday morning but I decided I'd better get a quick post up while I've got the chance as this is shaping up to be a pretty busy day.  We have decided to go to New Mexico for Memorial Day week-end, and I've lots to do still.  We really debated back and forth as to rather or not we should make another trip out so soon, but we both feel like we can probably survive ANOTHER 17 hour drive (both ways of course!) and let's face it, we have a pretty good incentive, lol. I am itching to get that new baby in my arms again, and we will celebrate little Luke's second birthday as well.  It's been decided that I am going to bring my sewing machine along because as it turns our several of the little bloomers I made for Claire need some adjusting in the leg openings. I made them a little small.  It's soo hard to try and "guess" what size to cut your elastic for both the waists and the leg openings on those things.  But if I make the openings a little bigger, those bloomers will last her through August so it will be worth it.  I have finished up a few more little things for her in the last few days, and have thoroughly enjoyed myself doing so.  I have used the same pattern kind of a lot as it is so quick and easy.  Let me show you....

I MADE UP THESE DARLING LITTLE LEGGINGS AND HEAD BAND AS I COULDN'T RESIST.  I DID GO TO THE NEXT SIZE UP PATTERN SO THEY SHOULD FIT HER THROUGH THE SUMMER.  THE LITTLE BIRDS ARE JUST PRECIOUS I THOUGHT...JUST SOMETHING ELSE TO GO WITH THE WHITE EYELET TOP

SAME PATTERN...TOTALLY DIFFERENT LOOK, LOL.  THIS IS A STRETCH DENIM..MADE THIS WHOLE OUTFIT FROM A 1/2 YARD OF FABRIC!

SAME PATTERN...HOW DARLING IS THIS FABRIC?  I HAVE PLAIN RED KNIT FOR A PAIR OF LEGGINGS FOR THIS TOP BUT I HAVEN'T MADE THEM YET.  THEY ARE ON THE LIST FOR THIS AFTERNOON.  ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE IN A SLIGHTLY BIGGER PATTERN.
JUST HAD TO SHOW YOU A PIC OF HOW SHE GROCERY SHOPS WITH 3 OF THEM LOL!

AND TAKES WALKS WITH THE 3 OF THEM!

ANOTHER NEWBORN PICTURE...LOVE THIS!

ALREADY LOOKING UP TO BIG BRO....MELODY SAID SAM IS SOO GOOD WITH HER.  PROTECTIVE, INTERESTED AND LOVING.  AND CLAIRE FOLLOWS HIS VOICE ALREADY WHERE EVER HE IS!  SOO SWEET

SHE'S GOT SOME SILLY BIG BROTHERS TO KEEP HER ENTERTAINED!

ONE OF THE MANY BLOOMER ENSEMBLES I MADE.  SOME OF THE LEG OPENINGS WERE BIGGER THEN OTHERS...NOT SURE WHY, LOL  GUESS THIS SEAMSTRESS WASN'T CONSISTENT

SHE SENT ME THIS PICTURE YESTERDAY.  AGAIN, SHE SAID SAM WAS JUST SOO SWEET AS LUKE COULDN'T KEEP UP WITH HIM, BUT SAM KEPT TURNING AROUND AND SAYING, "COME ON LUKE...HURRY UP..." AND THEN WOULD TURN AROUND AND COME BACK TO HIM.  SOO CUTE.  MELODY IS TRAILING BEHIND THEM WITH THE BABY IN HER CARRIER.  LOOKS LIKE A LONG ROAD TO ME.  NO WONDER ALL OF HER BABY WEIGHT IS ALREADY OFF  THEY HAVE TO TAKE THEIR WALKS IN BOOTS AS THERE IS LOTS OF MUD ETC. THERE AND YOU KNOW BOYS AND MUD PUDDLES, LOL

LOOK AT THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE BRACELET.  WHAT I WOULDN'T HAVE GIVEN TO HAVE HAD SUCH A THING WHEN MELODY WAS A BABY.  I LOOKED EVERYWHERE BUT THEY JUST DIDN'T EXIST SOO SMALL.  MELODY SAID THEY COME IN EVERY STYLE AND COLOR YOU CAN THINK OF.  SHE RESTRAINED HERSELF AND ONLY BOUGHT ONE.  DON'T KNOW IF I COULD HAVE
I just have to share this little video with you.  I get soo many of them a day I can be entertained for hours.  But this one, while it is only a few seconds long brought me to literal tears.  It is of little Cody and his end of the year musical performance from school.  Again, for those who don't remember or don't know, Cody is our little autistic grandson.  He has just finished his kindergarten year and did remarkably well.  His progress has just been phenomenal.  He points at the end of this to his parents and it is just the sweetest thing you ever say.  Hope you enjoy it!  (he's the one in the striped shirt!)

Well that's about it for now.  I've a day of errands, laundry, watering, the knit pants, and a good vacuuming to do today.  We hope to leave around noon tomorrow.  We are not going to drive straight through this time, but hope to get to at least Tuscon by tomorrow night.  That way we should be pulling onto the dairy around 1 ish on Friday.  I hope you all have a good week-end!  We will definitely be remembering and praying for all of those service people without whom we wouldn't enjoy the freedoms we do!  Blessings to you all!  Debbie

  2. Oh I will watch the video on the big PC. I have a soft spot where Cody is concerned. You are going to have a great Memorial Day weekend! Glad that you are going to break it up, too. Seventeen hours at a whack is brutal! But those babies don't stay little forever. Happy Trails!
