CATCHING UP!

Well it's happened....it's been so long since I posted I am forgetful of what I've even been on.
There really is NO REASON for a journal or a diary so to speak and honestly I am back re-thinking this whole blogging business.  I can't bear to quit so I will press on, but it is getting harder and harder to do so.  I think I left off with Father's Day, a make-up bag, and the completion of  Claire's outfit. I DID re-make that shoe, and I was VERY happy with the way they came out....FINALLY...  Of course I have to show you...
STILL NOT PERFECT, BUT MUCH BETTER, LOL

Soo lets see I think the next thing I was on was I made Katie up a make up bag.  I had seen such cute ballerina fabric I really wanted to make something with it, and since she's the only ballerina I know she seemed like the likely candidate.  I thoroughly enjoyed making it, but after I got it done I decided it was a little too young or "girlish" for a 16 year old, but she loves it so I guess it is what it is....What do you think?  Let me show you...

FRONT......I PUT HER NAME ON IT WITH SPARKLY JEWELS,AND QUILTED IT SOME IN SILVER METALLIC THREAD....IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE WHERE I DID IT ON THE GREY

LINING
THE SIDES WERE DONE IN HOT PINK

AND I QUILTED THEM ALSO IN A DECORATIVE STITCH WITH SILVER METALLIC THREAD

Then on Saturday morning we took off for Arizona to spend Jeff's father's eighty seventh birthday with him.  At one point ALL of our kids were supposed to come with us, but it didn't work out for Joe or for Melody.  But James rode along with us, and John and his wife Jessica meet us there.  It was a really nice time of visiting and playing this dice game that his dad loves, and just generally enjoying ourselves.  I am soo glad we got this chance for a quick visit.  He is doing REALLY well, and we pray he has many more years ahead of him.  We spent the night and after a late breakfast, and another long visit, we left for home around noon.  It was a REALLY good week-end.  I only got a couple of pics, [neither one very good, lol] so I will show you.

PLAYING THE DICE GAME...I WAS THE FIRST OUT.....SHOCKER!  LOL

3 GENERATIONS...JOHN HAD ALREADY LEFT BUT THIS IS JAMES,, HUBBY JEFF, AND JACK,  LOOKS GOOD DON'T YA THINK?

On Monday I decided I needed to keep my nose to the grindstone as I had several things I needed to get made and finish up before this week-end.  Soo I started with my DIL Leah whose birthday is July 2nd. I decided to make her a make up bag to start with as I am on a roll right now with those.  Let me show you..

FOR SOME REASON THE COLOR CAME OUT STRANGE IN THESE PICS OF THE LIGHTER GREEN...MATCHES MUCH BETTER THEN THAT, LOL.  I QUILTED IT ALL OVER WITH GOLD METALLIC THREAD.  LOVE HOW IT CAME OUT.  I AM GOING TO MAKE ANOTHER ONE EXACTLY LIKE IT FOR MY GIRLFRIEND CINDY WHO I AM GOING TO GET TOGETHER WITH ON TUES TO CELEBRATE HER 62ND BIRTHDAY.  WE'VE BEEN THE BEST OF FRIENDS SINCE WE WERE 9 YEARS OLD!

LINING
And then, because I have been sooo in the mood to embroider, I decided to embroidery them both some kitchen dish towels as well.  I found the cutest set of designs to do them in and have thoroughly enjoyed myself making them up.  I honestly can't decide which one is my favorite.  What about you?  Any favorites?  Let me show you....

I DID THIS SET ON THE GREEN STRIPED TOWELS AND SIMILAR AND YET DIFFERENT THREADS FOR THE DESIGN.  THIS SET IS FOR MY GIRLFRIEND I THINK

THIS SET WAS DONE IN THE BURGUNDY STRIPES...THE FABRIC OF THESE TOWELS [I FOUND AT JOANNES AND BOUGHT WITH A 40 PERCENT OFF COUPON] WERE SOOOOO NICE TO EMBROIDER ON.  MADE THE WHOLE PROJECT SO QUICK AND EASY AND ENJOYABLE.
Now I still intend to get my DIL a gift certificate for a pedicure from my nail lady who is just the best there is and I am all done with them.  Oh wait, I still need to make one more makeup bag.  But those are pretty quick.  Meanwhile, I told Annabel that I would make up Sophia something fun to wear for the 4th of July, and then I also made her a changing table pad [noticed she doesn't have one when we were there a couple of weeks ago!] and another blanket out of the comfy fabric, which she has ended up just LOVING.  It is sooo soft and cozy I can see why she loves it.  I went ahead and made her another onesies as well out of leopard skin fabric with a matching bow as I just couldn't resist it as well.  I still have to embroider the 4th of July onesie, and make the blanket up [it is cut out and it is super super easy to make]  but the changing pad is finished as is the leopard outfit.  Let me show you that...

MADE THE CHANGING PAD OUT OF THIS SOFT PURPLE MINKY

AND THIS IS THE COMFY FABRIC FOR THE BLANKET...THE CENTER WILL BE A SOFT WHITE FLANNEL WITH TINY PINK POLKA DOTS

LEOPARD OUTFIT

CLOSER LOOK AT BOW...I REALLY LOVE HOW IT CAME OUT

On Tues I had some errands to run so I decided to take a little break as well and picked up Cody and took him to lunch and to see Finding Dory.  What a cute movie!  We both loved it.  I really enjoyed my one on one time with Cody, and I am hoping as the summer goes on to work in some time with ALL of them this way.

TOOK THIS PIC OF HIM WHEN WE GOT BACK.  HE WAS SUCH A GOOD BOY.  THE SUN WAS IN EYES SOMEWHAT THOUGH.  SUCH A HANDSOME BOY.  GRANDMA LOVES HIM TO THE SKY AND BACK!  WE HAVE A COUPLE OF OTHER MOVIES COMING OUT IN JULY HE IS ANXIOUS TO SEE THAT WE WILL BE GOING TO AS WELL.  I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO IT.

Welp, that about catches me up.  You can see I have been mainly sitting at the sewing machine, and I have another FULL day there tomorrow and hopefully I will be done.  I need to deliver Annabel her things on Sat as well as pick up Melody's quilt from the quilters.  It's done!  I am soooo anxious to see it, and of course I need to get it finished up as well.  Then we have all kind of plans for this week-end, bbq's and 4th of July fun, but I will tell you about that later.  Can't be getting ahead of myself now can I?  lol  Hope you all have had a good week.  I have not been around much, but I will be soon.  Many blessings to you all!  Debbie  Grandkids pics to follow as always..

SAM AND LUKE ARE WORKING ON TABLE MANNERS, LOL.  WHEN THEY HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE THEY GET A STICKER, AND A FULL PAGE OF STICKERS RESULTS IN A SURPRISE.  THEY ARE PRETTY EXCITED OVER IT

THIS PICTURE WAS TO SHOW ME THE LIGHT DUSTING OF FRECKLES COMING ON HIS NOSE, BUT ALL I SEE ARE HIS PRETTY BLUE EYES, LOL   look hard for the freckles

LUKE DECIDED TO GIVE CLAIRE A RIDE IN HER DOLL'S STROLLER, LOL

ON THEIR WAY TO SWIM LESSONS...SUCH A HAPPY GIRL!

AND LOOK AT THIS!  LONG ENOUGH FOR A TINY PONY TAIL.  SHE'S GOT HER MAMA BEAT FOR SURE.  AT THAT AGE SHE WAS STILL QUITE BALD, LOL

  9. I love the embroidered towels! And just when you were visiting AZ, I was visiting Southern California! Last week I spent four days with my aunt and uncle. We went to the Ronald Reagan Library and I loved it. My aunt lives in La Crescenta. I thought of you but didn't know where you are.
