BIRTHDAYS AND THE GRANDKID VISITS!

HAPPY THIRD BIRTHDAY TODAY TO VINCENT JAMES!  SUCH A SWEET, HAPPY, BIG BOY!  LOVE HIM FOREVER AND ALWAYS!

Well we wrapped up the last of our individual visits with our grandkids this last week-end, and this last one was just as enjoyable as all the rest.  I met my 11 year old grand daughter Capri and her daddy half way between here and San Diego for lunch on Friday, and then Capri came on home with me after that.  We had such a good time with her.  She had brought along her stuffed cat, Alheed, and together the first thing we did was give him a much needed bath, lol.  We did this in the kitchen sink, soaking him for a while, then soaping him up a couple of times followed by a thorough rinse.  We laid him in the sun outside for the majority of his drying out, but eventually we did throw him in the dryer too.  I was a little worried how this might affect him [he is quite old, lol] but figured worse case I might have to get out a needle and a thread and do some repairs.  But he actually did quite well. While she was here we made a trip to the fabric store and got what we needed to make him a carrier/purse of sorts, and a small blanket, and also some fabric to make her some more skirts.  On Sat we went to movie of her choice [the secret life of Pets] and then stopped and looked for a couple of t-shirts to go with the new skirts I was going to make her.  After that we came home and spent the rest of the afternoon working on the cat carrier/purse.  At night we feasted on meals of her choice [steak one night, pizza the next] and watched a marathon viewing of Anne of Green Gables.  Think I have mentioned before these are a favorite of mine, and she joined the LONG list of grand daughters [plus my own daughter] who have loved them too.  On Sunday morning I whipped up two new skirts for her before we got ready and headed down to the Bible Study Fellowship at my nieces house where her daddy was going to pick her up.  I DID snap a few pics of course, lol

PRETTY CAPRI SPORTING ONE OF HER NEW SKIRTS AND TOPS....SHE'S GETTING SOO BIG....ALMOST AS TALL AS I AM [5'6'] AND WEARING A BIGGER SHOE

My sister Danae''s birthday was Sat and she attends the Bible Fellowship as well as it is at her daughter's house, so I brought her a couple of little things from me to enjoy.  I'll show you of course...

I HAD SOME OF THE FABRICS LEFT AND HAVE MADE A SIMILAR BAG FOR ONE OF MY GRAND DAUGHTERS, AND DANAE PARTICULARLY LIKED IT SO I DECIDED TO MAKE ONE FOR HER TOO.  AND I AM SURE YOU RECOGNIZE THE TOWEL DESIGNS AS I HAVE MADE THESE BEFORE TOO.  HER KITCHEN IS DONE IN GREYS AND LIGHT BLUES, SO I THOUGHT THESE COLORS WOULD WORK WELL

AND ON OF THE TOWELS....I REALLY LOVE THESE DESIGNS, AND THEY ARE SO QUICK AND EASY WHAT WITH NO COLOR CHANGES ETC.

The rest of this week will be spent getting things ready for Melody's visit.  We will pick her up on Friday night from the airport.  Sure hope she flys out OK with those 3 babies.  She is a brave girl as I don't know if I could do it.  Her hubby is driving out on Wed. and will drive them all home on the following Sat. so at least she will only have to do is once, lol.  To say I am looking forward to it would be putting it mildly.  I can't wait.  I hope to get around to visit, but probably won't post again until she is gone.  I am praying everyone is healthy while she is here, and that all goes well.  Many blessings to you all!  Debbie

  1. Little Sophia's eyes in that last photo! Amazing. You sound like a wonderful grandma and your grandchildren are blessed. Your visit with Capri sounded so special. I have warm memories of time with my grandmothers but never had a visit on my own like that! What wonderful memories you will share! And the cat looks so clean and fluffy.

  2. First of all, what precious children. Every one of them, and the special time and attention you got to give to Capri So sweet and I love everything you did together. The pet carrier is cool and the puppy nice and clean for riding in it. Capri's a cutie in her new skirt. Enjoy your weekend. You are a very accomplished and energetic woman. How is it that you are doing Bible Study Fellowship in the summer? Ours begins the second week in September.

Anne of Green Gables. Never tire of it.

  3. Oh the story of the stuffy getting cleaned is amusing me because right now I have not one, but two stuffies being washed in the machine on gentle cycle and in garment bags for each. I certainly hope that they make it through because I do not know how I will explain it otherwise. Pray for them! Ha!

Capri is smiling so big wearing her new skirt and top. She likes them. She really likes them. I can only imagine how much fun it is introducing Anne of Green Gables to another grand. I am sure that she loves Anne as most girls fall in love with the story.

Have a blast with your daughter and her darlings. It should be a wonderful week all around!
