UNEVENTFUL WEEK-END!
Goodness it is Monday morning again already, and almost half way through March as well. How can that be?
Our week-end was relaxing and really pretty uneventful. Lots of conversation and time spent with DH though. : ) I have come to really appreciate this since my mom has come to live with us. There just isn't a lot of time for it anymore. By the time hubby gets home from work and we get our dinner taken care of, dishes done, and agree on something to watch on TV, we are all sleepy it seems and the day is over, haha. And mom is an early riser as we are! I guess in many ways I am grateful that we still find the need to connect and talk so much after 38 years together, but we just do. So this morning I am glad for LOTS of uninterrupted time for talking!
I am excited this morning to begin the actual sewing part of the quilt. I hope it goes as quick and easily as I am thinking it will. I am anxious to see it all begin to come together. I have an idea as well on how to put together a pillow sham with his name embroidered on it which should be really cute as well to go with it. It's funny. I have noticed I do this a lot. In my mind I have moved on to the NEXT project LONG before I have finished the one I am currently working on. Soo me. Maybe it is why I have piles of fabric laying around waiting to be cut?!
WOW! Just felt a little earthquake...Always unsettling. I guess when you live in So. California you are used to them in a way, so it is not a big deal, but then again you are always wondering in the back of your mind, is this the BIG one? haha. Hopefully this was just a little one and no one suffered any damage or anything. Other than that this is shaping up to be a gorgeous day! The sun is shinning brightly, the birds are singing, the tree's are beginning to bloom, and spring is definitely in the air. Hope you all have a wonderful week! Blessings to you all!

News of your earthquake just now coming to us in the airwaves...and I heard it first right here. Glad that you and your hubby get some time to chat every week for extended periods of time. You've been chatting for all this time, why not continue. ;D
ReplyDeleteEarthquakes are frightening, even little ones. Hope the big one never makes it there.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week, Debbie.
Hi Debbie, When I saw the report of the earthquake in So.Ca., I immediately began to wonder if any of my quilting buddies would have felt it. I don't miss that part of Ca. at all! I always hated them, especially after going through Loma Prieta. I can't wait to see the quilt you're making for Mel's little guy-I bet it will be beautiful. I'm having a slow day; can't wait for spring and more energy.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
I wondered if you felt that this morning. I didn't today. It has been awhile since I felt one.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you get to sew this week. That is always so nice.
Isn't it true the longer you are married the more you need them to talk to?
I was thinking about that the other day.
We are supposed to have really warm weather this week. I just hope we don't have summer in April. :)
Have a great week Debbie.
I too start thinking about my next quilting project before I'm halfway through my current project.
ReplyDeleteWe are in a fault zone here (New Madrid fault) so I know how scary an earthquake can be, even the small ones. And ours are nothing compared to what you Californians face.
I can't wait to see your quilt when you get it put together.
Hi Deb,
ReplyDeleteThe earthquake must have been very scary, we had a shock wave two years ago, my first one and that was something else. I have truly found that marriage just gets better and better with age, dh and I are now at the point that we finish each others sentences how cool is that!!~smile~ I am also thankful your mom is doing better, Best of luck with the quilt, as always I do admire you ladies who are so gifted with your hands.
Hugs,
Sue
your weekends are never uneventful
ReplyDeleteOh we are having earthquakes in Texas...a first and it is weird.
I can't wait to see the quilt...I have a grandmother quilt I want to make to keep at the house...now I must get started since on the 17th he comes to live for good...and I become a grandmommy

Being from the Eastern part of the country I've never experienced any kind of earthquake and Im seriously grateful for that... Sounds like you had some really nice alone time with hubby.. Thats so important and even after 38 years.. As to moving onto another project in your mind before you're even done with the one you're working on? Im so next to you on that.. LOL
