I guess I am about to see how much I can type in 5 to 10 minutes. We are sitting here waiting for our dil to arrive with our two grand daughters before heading out to the Taylor Swift concert. Hubby got free box seats so we decided to go ahead and take the girls. I do love Taylor Swift but would probably not have paid to see her in concert. But the girls are giddy, and I mean giddy, so I know I will have extra reason to enjoy it. I spent the day yesterday making a new block for my Fall runner. I am only making one of these for myself and I had to wait to get a little experience under my belt before attempting it, as it is kind of hard for a beginner. I wrestled with it, grumbled a few times, but finally got it looking the way I wanted it to

THERE WILL BE 3 OF THESE BLOCKS IN THE RUNNER...AND THEN IT WILL HAVE A BORDER AS WELL. LOVE THE COLORS IN THIS!

Today I spent the WHOLE day (from 10 till 3) at my second sewing machine class. My head is swimming with information that hopefully I will somehow retain, as it is just going to be soo fun to use. I have been still using my old machine, but I think it is time to finally make the switch. Meanwhile, tomorrow is ANOTHER class from 10 till 2 on the stitch regulator. This is the one I have been waiting for. I hope I am not too tired from tonight to concentrate, because trust me, CONCENTRATE I have to. But this is what I have to master in order to do the machine quilting I have planned. I am excited about the class. Next Friday is the final class and it will all be on embroidery. Supposedly after that I will morph into this wonderously creative seamstress/quilter/designer, haha. Hope you all have a wonderful week-end. The girls are here and I can hear them giggling as they RUN to our front door. I think it might be a LONG night. : )
Yep, you're a quilter! I love the Fall leaves! Fall is my favorite season, and I adore the colors of Fall. You chose some beautiful fabrics for that block!
ReplyDeleteI am green with envy about your new machine and all that it can do! What I wouldn't GIVE for a machine like that!! Enjoy the concert. I bet the girls are beside themselves!!

Hope you've survived the concert! AND that you can stay awake during your class.
ReplyDeleteThat block is absolutely gorgeous!! I love the colors ... they just "scream" fall! Who wouldn't love a runner with those blocks?! You're very brave to work on a block like this ... and to do so well tells me that you're really getting the hang of this! I can't wait to see all 3 blocks put together.
Do you take a lot of notes or do they provide a lot of hand-outs? I hope so! I could never retain hours of information that way.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to learn how the concert went. I hope that you all had an enjoyable evening!
Debbie
