CAN'T ROB MY JOY!!

Well, I have discovered that I do not do many things well in a hurry, and considering I am usually in a hurry, you know where that leaves me, haha.

I "started" my Thankful Thursday post on Tues. as it just takes me a while sometimes to think out all I want to say. I finished it on Wed. afternoon (late) right before I figured out I was going to be able to go to the church service in San Diego. Sooo, I imagine it was confusing to some as to when the actual service even really was, as my blog said one thing and I was saying another. Soo me. Anyway, the service was last night (Wed) and it was wonderful. I was very blessed. It is funny sometimes to go to a service that your "son" is teaching and realizing he has much to teach "me"...haha Imagine that. lol Anyway, as it turned out my arrangements fell through and I couldn't bear to miss it, so I decided to drive out alone. Which of course I have done a million times, but not in the dark.. alone. I will admit coming home I was somewhat nervous and when I pulled onto the freeway and saw that there was lots and lots of fog, I almost turned around and went back to spend the night at my sons, but I pressed on and did just fine. Thank you Lord!

I pulled into the church parking lot and saw that it was packed (which Wed. nights are not generally packed, full, but not packed) and I immediately thought, "oh no, what is this Lord?" (my nervous mom showing here) Upon getting into the church I discovered an usual amount of high schoolers and young people in the church and thought, OK, this might make sense, he is the high school pastor and he also spoken at several different local high schools in the area. Well, when I glanced down and saw who the worship team was for the night, I understood the pack. It was Shane and Shane...which I will admit I would have probably never heard of, and had certainly never heard their music, except for the fact that my son is a high school minister. Anyway, they were simply incredible. I LOVED them. How they blessed me. And what was even more of a blessings was the hundreds of young people with their hands in the air worshipping our Lord. It was just soo heart warming to see. I ended up buying two of their CD's and listened and praised God on my long drive home (did I mention.. ALONE?) and it made the trip such a wonder. My son did very well, which I will admit is hard for me to me objective about probably, haha...but several people committed their lives to the Lord last night, so the Lord used him (and the music group) for sure it seems. I do have (I think) the link which should pull up the service if you would like to see it. If you are short on time, you can always move the little button thing at the bottom about half way over because the worship takes a long time. My son teaches for almost 45 min. too, so it is a LONG time as well. If you have the time, pour yourself a cup of tea, and take a listen.

Ok, the first one I did, DIDN'T work, naturally as I am in a hurry, haha. Sooo click on this link and the church web page comes up. In the middle section, scroll down and you will see archieves, click there and then when that comes up, click on Wed. archieves and then he is the first one listed. His name is James Class. This sounds kind of hassily and hard, but it is really pretty quick and simple.

I just had to tell you my morning (I will try to be quick, but you know what that means, haha) as it was quite unbelievable. I awoke tired, (I got to bed after midnight) and soo sore in my knees as I think I over did my treadmilling yesterday. Anyway, I was walking into my kitchen which has two little steps up into it from my family room, when I stubbed my toe, and fell ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR (which is hard ceramic tile) directly on my poor knees. I could hardly believe it was happening. And in the split second I had as I knew I was going down I managed to stick out my hands and grab the kitchen table which I think helped greatly in keeping my knees from taking the full weight of my body (which trust me is incredible). I did however somewhat tweak my wrist doing this...THEN (yes it goes on!) I went to my fridge and pulled out my FULL basket of fresh blueberries and dropped them and hundreds (or so it seemed) of tiny little blueberries spilled everywhere. I wanted to just leave them, and actually considered it for a moment, but had to pick up every one of those little tiny purple balls. THEN!! (here is where it gets truly out of control) I was finally done with that chore, made my breakfast and was hobbling back to my favorite pink chair with my breakfast and my ice packs for my knees, when the next thing I knew I dropped the glass of ice water in my hand shattering glass and ice and water EVERYWHERE. Believe it or not, I burst into laughter instead of tears, and of course had that all to clean up before I finally sat down and had my little Jenny Craig breakfast. WHEW!! Can you believe that?? But I was sooo full of joy from my night, that it didn't even rob me of my moment to enjoy it, though I believe the enemy was trying hard. God is soo good...Of course now I have just a little half hour before my 3 grandkids land in here for the evening which will be complete with homework, dinner and a VERY ACTIVE 9 month old baby!! Pray I make it through if you get the chance, as this Grandma is feeling pretty sore.

  3. Oh! My Debbie,
Some start to your day, I am so glad you weren't hurt anymore than you were. You are right God is so good all the time.

How blessed i was to read of the salvation's and that young people were giving praise to God. Sometimes I think the young people are the only ones experiencing revival in this country. My son-in-law 's meetings with young people really blessed us while we were in Texas.

    Take care of yourself.

Thank you for giving the web site.

Thank you for coming by and for leaving me such a sweet comment, I am so happy to put your name in the hat for my giveaway.
    Blessings,
    Sue

  7. Oh, Debbie, you poor thing! Sometimes things just don't go the way we want them to, but seems to me that the Lord just has to allow some struggles so we'll know just strong we are in Him. Just like a Father, He watches as we try new things, and applauds us when we make it through. Just as you are doing with your son, your Father is doing with you. Even spilling the water was an opportunity to let it all out and relax before the grandkids made their debut at your door! Your strength shines through, and so does your joy! No stealing Debbie's joy...she won't have it!

I will come back to listen to the sermon...I know it will be wonderful...but who is Shane and Shane???

    God bless!
    Mary

  8. Oh Debbie, good thing you kept your sense of humor!!

I've found myself very, very late at night trying to complete an order where I've knocked my entire bowl of filling onto the floor that splattered EVERYWHERE!!! I then found myself, very late at night, cleaning up chocolate filling, and, starting the mixer back up to make even more filling.

Ohhhh, I hate it when that happens!!! At least you kept your sense of humor!! Don't you just loved days like that!!??

  9. Debbie, what a day you had! How proud you must be as you get to witness the Lord using your son to reach others for Him. And good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone of driving in the dark. You trusted the Lord to get you there safely.

Coming home and falling was another thing though, it seems. Be careful girl. But at least you have a sense of humor which is great.

    Love you,
    Debbie
