A WELL WATERED GARDEN

Isa 58:11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

I came across this verse this morning in my morning devotions and I just can't tell you how it blessed me. This has been a difficult season in my life as many of you know. But no matter what may be going on around me, the Lord is faithful and His mercies are new every morning. He keeps me watered and strong and He NEVER fails me. He strengthens my very bones. I have felt His presence EVERYDAY in a very real and tangible way, and know that the prayers of all of you have help keep me going.

I am feeling MUCH better. Still not back to my total self, but I am a little stronger every day and the pain is almost completely gone. Sleeping is no longer an issue (praise God!) as I can roll from side to side now without being sharply reminded as to why that wasn't a good idea. Meanwhile we have had a few delays at the new house. We discovered a water damaged area in the floor and it all had to be ripped out and repaired. Everything goes sooo slow. My son James gave up his day off yesterday and drove up to help out, and how grateful I was. He got ALOT done. Oh to be 30 and soo strong again, and move quickly from task to task. My poor hubby will help out today and tomorrow and then right back to his regular exhausting stressful job without really getting any time to rest up. I am still not good for much. I have taken back over dishes, and laundry at home, and can at least run after food for everyone etc. But my arms are WEAK and I quickly run out of energy. I am being careful to not overdo as I don't want to regress in any way. IF all goes as planned, we should have the carpet laid next Friday and move in next Sat. On the 4th of July week-end. Not exactly what ANYONE felt like for the holiday week-end, and we will have to do it without my son Jimmy. He will be in New Jersey with his family on a much anticipated family vacation. Now we still have our other sons Joe and John and a few others as well so we are hardly alone, but I would have loved to have done this with ALL hands on deck. We have several pieces of REALLY heavy furniture. My sisters, and dil, and mom, are all available and willing to help me with the unpacking and rearranging of furniture decisions, and how very grateful I am. When I moved into the house we are in 24 years ago, I was almost 8 months pregnant with Melody and not good for much then either. I guess moving and I don't go together very well, haha. When I am not feeling overwhelmed, I am very excited about all that is going on. I can't wait to be at the point of hanging pictures and making this new house a home. How grateful I am that the Lord has blessed us with this, and provided us with not only the means to fix it and decorate it more to our taste, but with ALL the willing hands there have been to help us out.

Yes, the Lord is good ~ He is faithful to His children ~ His mercy and grace are sufficient for each day ~ we are like a WELL watered garden. How wonderful is that?

  5. Hi Debbie,

I am so glad that you are feeling better! What a relief I'm sure it is just to be able to roll over in your sleep and not be in pain. That's good news. Sounds like you are on your way to feeling 100%. You will get there!

I'm sorry to hear about the water damage in the new house. I hope that gets fixed up quick so you can move over the 4th. Let those boys do all the work!! You just take it easy. :)

  14. I'm experiencing good health right now, but I've had episodes when I've been laid low. I don't much like them, especially given my high-energy, take-charge nature. Sometimes I wonder if the Lord doesn't allow them just so I'll have to "be still and know ..."?

Anyway, I'm so sorry for this rough season in your life. I'm also very grateful for your authentic witness!

    Blessings,
    Kathleen

  18. Moving is such a big job. It makes me tired just thinking about it. We moved into this house over 20 years ago. Moving the next time will be much harder because we are older and have accumulated 20 years worth of "stuff".
I'm glad you have all those family members to help. It will make it much easier for you. I know the Lord will be with you all the way.
Blessings and Happy 4th of July,
    Charlotte

  22. Happy Monday friend. Hope all things are coming together with regards to the move - surely was thinking of you when I wrote my post today! Goodness, moving can be so stressful...and that's exactly where my brother and sister-in-law find themselves right now. I hope they can get settled quickly.

They will be moving to Monterey/Carmel (actually they don't have a new home nailed down yet...just adding to the stress)but will be one of those two.

Like you said, California is HUGE..but if I actually ever make it to the West Coast, I would LOVE to find a way to you. I would be as giddy as a schoolgirl to actually meet a blogging friend!! Something to pray about, for sure.

Hope you have a great Monday (the rest of it)....praying for you.

    Jennifer
