SOME NEW GOODIES AND A FUNNY VIDEO

Oh..my...goodness...I have been TRYING for what seems like hours ( I guess it wasn't really) to figure out why on earth I couldn't seem to get my blog to switch to "new post".  I am not sure even now what I did, but I am on so I guess I will hope it ALL works now. I am not the most patient person in the world, so this was soo frustrating.  Anyway....

The days are flying by so fast I honestly can't believe it.  Here we are to Friday again already and it seems as if the week just began.  Mom and I survived our being "stuck" while the streets were paved just fine, haha.  As a matter of fact the two days whipped right by.  Mom did have a VERY MILD little seizure on Wed. morning which was very disappointing.  We had just gotten the go ahead to leave her alone for a couple of hours here and there by the doc on Mon., as she had been an entire month on the new medication with no seizures at all.  Guess it just wasn't meant to be, at least for now.  She was fine the entire rest of the day, but very sleepy.  On Thursday we went down to women's group which was wonderful as always, and afterwards we had lunch at a nice little Mexican restaurant, and then did a little shopping.  I wanted to get a new top or two before our trip next week.  I found some cute ones and we headed home.  I really enjoyed having mom there to give me her opinion on things.  Haven't had that since Mel last shopped with me.  Today after mom left with my sister I had my nails done (soo relaxing and nice) and then had lunch with my girlfriend Cindy.  She got me a very nice gift (I will post a pic soon) for my birthday (which isn't until the 28th!) and we chatted the afternoon away.  I will admit I really NEEDED a day like this.  I love my mom to pieces.  And I LOVE having her here with me.  I honestly do.  We get along really well, never run out of conversation, and she is just "good company"...However, (why is there always a however?)  I have discovered I just don't get any "alone" time.  And after a few years of having my days mainly to myself it has taken some adjustment.  She loves my hubby to death (it is kind of hard not to ~ just saying) and we all seem to agree on food, TV programs and the like.  But with hubby home of course on Sat. and Sun., I am only getting MAYBE a half a day to myself.  Not a lot to whine about I realize.  But I find myself not getting done things I need could be doing.  I will have to figure out a new devotional time for one thing.  I have always done mine first thing in the morning as I am NOT a night person (always fall asleep) but mom is right here when I come out.  Soo I thought she could just join me though ideally I'd like the time to be just me and the Lord.  But I officially am giving up on this, haha....let's just say it is NOT working out.  Oh and just in case you might think I could get up earlier, I already get up at 5:30 and shower and dress etc. before I ever leave my room for the day.  I don't think I could do even earlier, haha, though I have always been an early bird.  I am VERY certain I will figure this all out,  but in the meantime I am finding myself craving "alone" time occasionally.  It seems as if I had something I was planning on sharing in a blog post besides all this nothing,  but truthfully it took me soo long to get on here I honestly can't remember a thing.  A pretty uneventful week I guess.   We are leaving next Thursday morning (God willing of course) to go to New Mexico for Sam's first birthday.  I am very excited to say the least.  He is at such a curious, cute age.  Mom gave me her gift for my birthday when she got here on Mon, and I just love it.  It is an oil scented flower arrangement with the scent being Fall.  I LOVE it, and even now it is filling this room with it's wonderful aroma.  I have an  eye appointment tomorrow and several other little errands to do to prepare myself for our little trip, so I have a feeling the week-end will fly by too.

The flowers dipped in oil my mother gave me....they go just wonderfully between my Autumn angles I have had for just forever.  They are all on top of my piano.  It smells soo good!  Thanks mom!
The new Bless your Home sign my girlfriend gave me.  It's perfect in my kitchen under the window with all the rest of my little Fall goodies.  Thank you Cindy!

A closer look!

And I just had to show you this quick little video of Sam as it is just hilarious.  Mel entitled it, "Money down the drain!"  haha....I am thinking she didn't have it on there right even though I realize of course that Sam IS a little genius.  Give it a watch if you can as I know all you mom's or grandma's (or dad's for that matter) will find it amusing.  Hope you all have a wonderful week-end!

Blessings to you all......Debbie

Just had to show this darling little invitation too...OK, now that is really all...  : )

SOO CUTE!

  1. Oh, I so understand what you are saying about your alone time. We all NEED it and I do hope that you can get something figured out. I LOVE my alone time.

Well, looks like we'll both be celebrating little Grandsons b'days next week. What fun!

The video was priceless! Our kids and us use the kind that are latches put on the inside of the cabinet. A pain to install but work like a charm.

    Happy weekend!

I think your needing some alone time is completely understandable.

  5. Oh my goodness Debbie, do I ever understand your desire for alone time. Although I adore Noah more than words can say, it was an adjustment to begin babysitting him full time. I too was used to the morning to myself. The better part of the day for that matter! It all works out, eventually. I wouldn't change this time I have had with him for anything. I realize your situation is different in that it is your Mom. But it is still quit similar too.
Sam is hilarious! What a cutie. Safe travels to you, and enjoy your trip.
I guess I must have missed that you had a birthday too. Happy belated birthday to you!!!
    Hugs,
    Kris

  7. I know all about needing some alone time, my SIL lived with us for a short while before she moved into assisted living, once my feet hit the floor there was no stopping until bedtime...and there was absolutely no alone time. I know you will figure it out, meanwhile will be praying for you and your trip, I know you have got to be so excited

  8. Oh my word that video is too cute! He is so smart!!! Nice to know I'm not the only early riser! Our alarm goes off at 5:00 and hubby usually leaves by 5:40 with breakfast and lunch and then our son is up and out the door by 6:30. I fix him a hot breakfast every morning, usually eggs and sausage on a bagel. Hope you can find some time to get into a new routine with your devotions!
