WEEK-END HAPPENINGS...

I will try and keep this quick, as I (imagine that? haha) have a lot on my agenda today.  The week-end was VERY relaxing for sure, with mostly good things to report.  On Sat. we actually slept in a bit (clean till 7:30 am! haha) had a nice breakfast and then headed out to catch our grand daughter Lindsey's softball game.  I can't believe that it is almost the end of the season, and it is the FIRST one we have been able to get to, but then I am just glad this one worked out.  The day was just gorgeous is the only way to describe it.  Lots of warm sunshine, and yet a nice cool breeze in the shade.  How I loved being back at that particular ball field, as it was home to Melody for many years.  Not a lot has changed, with the exception of the girls uniforms.  They have FINALLY gone to long pants instead of shorts with sliders underneath!  DUH!!  What in the world took them soo long to figure that out?  Soo much safer this way.  The girls were all 11 and 12 years old and it was just flat out fun to watch.  Many trips down memory lane for me, and yet I decided I really like watching from the grandparents point of view....much less stressful.  The girls lost : ( but it was the perfect start to our day.  Honestly, I could have just sat there for the day soaking up the weather and the time.

After the game we headed out to lunch (sooo good!) and then went over to Joe's house to hang out with them for a while.  My oldest son has gotten into gardening.  Now you would have to know Joe to know how "different" for him this really is, but I am LOVING it.  haha.  Joe has always been my hundred mile an hour son.  I often joked that he hit the delivery room floor running, and really hasn't stopped since, haha.  He is just active is one way to describe it.  His new house (as I think I told you) has HUGE HUGE yards (yes, there is more than two) and a swimming pool and all of this suits Joe just fine as he LOVES being out of doors.  He likes his kids out of doors and active too.  He had the perfect little place for his garden, and he and has oldest son were busy working on it when we arrived.  He has got tomatoes, red and green peppers, corn, grape bushes, blueberry bushes, and a few others I can't remember, haha.  We watched him work for a while, and then he got in the pool with his youngest son Cody.  Leah was in the house hanging new curtains and working on settling the house, and honestly it just had the feel of the perfect Sat. afternoon.  Little Jeffie sat with me in the shaded swing by the pool and we chatted and talked and visited the afternoon away.
JOE WORKING AWAY!

SWIMMING WITH DADDY, WHILE THEIR DOG MAX WATCHES CAREFULLY

THIS WAS SOO FUNNY, AND YET GREAT.  JOE WOULD PUT CODY OUT OF THE POOL TO JUMP INTO HIM, AND THEIR DOG MAX WOULD STEP IN FRONT OF CODY "PREVENTING" HIM FROM DOING SO...HAHA  THE DOG DID NOT WANT HIM IN THE POOL.  SOO PROTECTIVE.  WE LOVED IT!
We left Joe's and went home to barbecue some yummy Salmon and watch a little TV.  Now, what I haven't mentioned, was that on Friday night I woke up in the middle of the night with my tooth bothering me...again.  I took Tylenol through the day, and it stayed pretty much in control of the pain, but I just didn't have a good feel about it.  Sunday morning it was a little bit worse, so we decided to stay at home rather than heading down to San Diego, and caught our old pastor live on-line.  We put in a call to my dentist, and after talking to him it looks like I will be heading back there sometime today.  Not sure WHAT is going on, but I am sure hoping it isn't going to involve a root canal after all.  ; (   I did do a little more sewing in the afternoon, and made up 3 more bibs.  My kids wonder when I will think I have enough, and I said, "When I run out of scraps, cute fabric, and the desire to do so, haha.  Here are the latest...

YOU'D PROBABLY BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH TRIM, THREAD, AND SCRAPS I'VE KEPT OVER THE YEARS! HAHA

I DID JUST RECENTLY PICK THIS FABRIC UP AT HOBBY LOBBY AS IT WAS SOO CUTE.

SOO CUTE

I ESPECIALLY LOVED THIS ONE....I MADE TWO OF MOST OF THESE (ONE FOR EACH OF THE BABIES) SO I DON'T HAVE TO DECIDE WHO GETS WHAT, LOL

I also want to share some cute pics of my youngest son's kids.  Our church got involved in a walk a thon on Sat. to provide money for un-wed moms, and provide an alternative for some of these women to abortion.

Ok, lots to do yet before I head out to the dentist (they called and my appointment is 11:15 ~ good time!) and mom gets back here for the week.  Hope you all had a restful, enjoyable week-end, and your week is blessed and full of His joy.  Debbie

  1. I am so glad I found you. This is my second visit with you today. We both have the most amazing grandchildren in the world, and obviously reared the perfect children ourselves. LOL We both love the Lord Jesus and delight in His presence. That is basis for a friendship right there. Also, I posted my Monday blog on my weekend activities. Go figure! Hope the dentist trip resolves your tooth issues painlessly.

I wish we had a Hobby Lobby here.

  6. So glad you had a nice weekend with your family. I can so sympathize with you over the tooth issues. I've had 11 root canals, root surgery and an implant and every tooth in my head has a filling in it. It's insane! I do hope you didn't have to have a root canal.

    Wishing you a happy week!

  8. I am so glad you had a "restful" weekend. Our grandson has recently started T-Ball so we are at the ball field every Saturday morning watching...it is more fun as a grandparent :) Hope everything went well with your tooth...not one of my favorite activities, I am in the middle of getting crown work done...hard on the pocket book. I really am enjoying your photos, keep including them please...you have adorable grandchildren

  9. I always enjoy catching up with you Deb. And you have the cutest photos. I hope your tooth situation works out quickly. I've had two root canals and I have to say they were fairly painless. It all depends on who you go to I think. I do think you should open up an Etsy shop with all of your sewing for kids. Would love to buy a bib for Kenzie.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie
