WEEK'S WRAP UP....

It's late Friday afternoon and I decided to put up a post, though truthfully I am beginning to think I might be boring you all to death as soo many of my posts are so similar.  I guess I keep thinking that maybe I can think of something new, but this is really just the story of my life, and I guess it is pretty uneventful and ordinary right now.  Which as I think about it, is a GOOD thing I guess.

This week has flown by in a cloud of heat.  Honestly, you just wouldn't believe our weather.  We have been in the UPPER 80's all week.  It is made very bearable by the fact that we dip into the low 40's at night.  So the house cools WAY down and is definitely somewhat chilly when we get up, but by 2 in the afternoon I have actually contemplated turning on the air conditioner.  Haven't done it yet, as that seems soo wild for January, but this house is WARM.  I would love a good old fashioned, COLD rain storm or two before the winter is over.  SURELY it will happen!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my girlfriend the other day and how I thank God for her.  We have been GOOD friends since we were 9 years old and have seen each other through all of life's ups and downs.  And now as we are getting ready to turn 60 (she's closer than me, lol) we will see each other hopefully well into our days of aging.  As I was driving home from our time together I thought to myself what an awesome God we have for putting such people into our lives.

My sister Danae came over yesterday as she is going to help me get some of these blankets cut out for her daughter.  We too had such a good time.  We had ourselves some BIG laughs as we fumbled around cutting things out.  It is always more fun for me to work with someone.  But our biggest laugh came from me doing a self video for little Sam.  My daughter had sent one to me of him saying he wanted to talk to grandma.  Oh my goodness.....it really IS a riot.  And no, I can't possibly post it.  Then you'd all know for sure what a loon I can be.

Today I put together 3 of the blankets, and cut out the binding for the quilt.  I just got a call that it is finished but I think I will wait for tomorrow to go and pick it up though it is taking every ounce of my self control.  I am sooo curious to see how it looks.  It is really my very first quilt!  Now it is a SMALL baby quit, but a quilt nonetheless.  Hopefully the binding will go on quickly and easily.  I will be glad when it is officially finished.

Not a lot planned for the week-end, but looking forward to it as always.  See what I mean?  Not much to report.  I will leave you with a few pictures from my week.  Hope you all have a WONDERFUL week-end.

Blessings, Debbie

  1. Uneventful and ordinary? Those are certainly good things!! Adventure is highly overrated. Of course, that is coming from an avowed homebody who is never happier than when puttering around the house or hanging out with my family.

Spending time with your friend and your sister sounds like lots of fun! Your projects are coming along so nicely. I love that little farm animal fabric...soooooo cute!

I must say I don't envy your 80+ degree days. I don't like heat in the summertime, let alone in January!! :D

  3. Just think of it this way: Had you not blogged your life over these recent years, you wouldn't have real time memories of the time with your mom stored in a tangible form. It's that way with every "every day" thing you write. It is now saved and cherished. To me, it's worth the time.

Plus, the snoopers like me get to snoop on your life. Win/Win.

I love that you still live near your childhood best friend. I moved a thousand miles from mine, but I still have my very best friend (my sister). Our luncheon club is made up of old friends. Two of them have been besties since they were in the church nursery together. It's a joy to see.

  7. You have been so busy. I am really freaking out about how warm it has been in January. Not a good sign.
I am hoping for some rain too. I have been praying about it too. I love that picture of Luke. What a great picture.
Your blankets are so nice. I have a friend like that and we talked this week for hours. We never run out of things to talk about. It is so nice to have a friend like that.
    Have a lovely weekend.

  11. Funny how easy it is to think not much is happening until you start inventorying what IS happening. I love your creative doings!

  12. Debbie, You are one talented lady, that's for sure. The blankets are adorable(love the fabric) and the decorative stitch is pretty too.
Can't wait to see your first quilt-I'm sure it will be a blue ribbon winner(if you were to enter it in a fair).
Luke has gotten so big-he looks just like Sam. I know you wish they lived next door; thankfully you have other grands around. Thanks for your thoughts on the recliners. Love you friend!
