NEW WEEK!

Well it's early Monday morning and we had a week-end of nice, cleansing rain!  How wonderful it was.  It is still kind of over-cast this morning, but I don't think we are suppose to get much more actual rain.  Hubby and I spent most of Sat. running around on some errands, and working a bit on trying to finish things up for the shower.  Or I guess that was mainly me, lol, though Jeff got involved with me as always.  How grateful I am for his help... honestly I don't think I could express it enough.  In going through the fabric I had on hand, and looking back at the receiving blankets I had already made, I decided to add on a few more nightshirts.  They weren't going to cost any extra money, and at the end of the day who would better get enjoyment out of the fabric then someone who had a matching receiving blanket? Plus, the nightshirts are one of what I call my "mindless" sewing projects, in that I have made them soo frequently I could practically make one with my eyes closed, plus they go VERY quickly. Just under an hour from cut out to the finishing iron.  Sooo, as it turns out now, I have 2 more cut out and left to make, (I might add on one or two more....I know, I know, I NEED to stop sometime) and I still have to make that one blue blanket.  That blanket is not ANY different in the style of all of the others I have made, but it is made of Minky and a flannel backed satin, and so therefore slides all around when working with it.  I need to get my walking foot on my machine to do it, and I need hubby's assistance with it as I can never quite remember how it is done.  But NO MATTER WHAT I decide to make, I am going to be DONE as of this Tues. evening.  I will need to put all of my stuff away and clean that area up, and finish up some "little" things I am still working on.  Ribbon on the mason jar center pieces, cutting out the cards for the blessing board, gluing on all the "lips and mustaches" hubby cut out of felt for the game we are going to play, getting my hair done, getting my nails done, selecting a new top to wear, my once a month Bible study is Wed. night, grocery shopping for our company for six days, laundry, and last touches on cleaning and preparing our house....whew, think I will make it?  lol. Honestly, it sounds worse than it is.  All of the truly time consuming and involved projects are done. And I don't know about you, but getting my hair and nails done are relaxing and pampering events I look forward to.  Now finding the new top?  Not so much, lol.  But I might just forget about that and find something in my closet that will work.  I am soo looking forward to seeing those babies.  Haven't seen them since of course Christmas, and while it isn't THAT long in the scheme of things, in the lives of babies, LOTS has changed.  With Luke especially.  He is crawling, pulling himself up, has a couple of teeth, and is practically a different baby according to his mama.  And Sam is potty trained and talking MUCH MUCH more, and has grown even more hair!  lol  If all goes according to plan, my sons and their families will gather here on Sat night after the shower and we will get one of our rare "the whole family" together nights.  Sooo having said all of this, it is time to get off of here and start my laundry and sit down at the machine, and "get her done" lol.  Hope all of you have a blessed and joyous week. I intend to post again on Thursday, but I will be visiting on my breaks as always.  Blessings to you all, Debbie

  4. Sounds like plans for the shower are coming right along nicely. I also think you need to go out and get a new top to go with your new manicure. That from a wardrobe planner who preaches "shop from your closet first!" Enjoy your week and those precious boys.

  11. It's all coming together. I want to know more about the lips and mustaches game. The ones your husband cut out are cute. The stork is adorable too. I'm going to remember that idea the next time I through a baby shower.

All your handiwork is really beautiful, Debbie. You have no idea how impressed I am with people who can sew and do hand work like that. I stink at it so badly that it's just sad.
