RELAXING WEEK-END

Well weather wise these last few days it's been a little weird for So. California.  It's HOT and humid, and we have even had little bits of rain.  I also heard this morning that there some people who were struck by lightening and even one man who was killed by it down at the beach yesterday.  He was only 20.  Soo scary. Just goes to show again how you just never know what a single day might bring.  We need to be ready to face our God at any time.  One of my daughter's best friends in high school's father (just 56) was in a bad automobile accident 6 weeks ago, and remains in a coma.  Soo hard and sad for the whole family.  Melody did get up (they live in Bakersfield, about 2 and half hours north of us) to spend a whole day with their family while she was here, and I am so glad she did. They have all been in our prayers.  Life is just a constant mixture of the planned and the unexpected, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad, and somewhere through it all we must find that balance.  I love that our God holds EVERYTHING in this life in His mighty hands, and we need only to trust in Him.  But we must never take a single moment for granted.

VINNY'S SHIRT

Moving on from these serious thoughts, lol, our week-end was really pretty kicked back.  Hubby and I were both needing some down time I am not going to lie.  We didn't do much of anything.  We did do a little shopping for our grandson Vinny whose first birthday is next week-end.  I honestly can't believe how fast the time has gone and this sweet baby is already a year old.  There will be a little party down in San Diego for him next Sun., and I am looking forward to that.  We decided to skip going to down to San Diego for church as there was a picnic right after service and neither one of us could muster up much enthusiasm for that, lol. It's too long of a drive for a quick turn around just for service, so we listened again to our old pastor on line. I did embroider a quick little birthday shirt for Vinny to wear to his party, but other than that spent my time napping and watching movies and chatting on the phone...very relaxing.  This week I intend to get back to my sewing.  I have decided to pick up working on the HST quilt I started a few weeks ago for Melody's sister in laws wedding in Oct.  I want to have that done and out of the way BEFORE I begin my own I have decided.  As soon as I get a little further along I will post some pics.
So guess that's it for now.  Hope your week is full of GOOD things.  Blessings to you all, Debbie

It's good to just relax and chill occasionally, Debbie.
We all need a rest, even from those activities that we love.

  5. As much as we enjoy visitors, it's rather exhausting, isn't it? I know that it is for me, anyway. ;-)

What a cute shirt for the birthday boy! Time really flies, doesn't it? My youngest grandson turns 7 this Sunday.
