OUR TIME WITH TELLA....AND CODY TOO!

Well I can tell you I enjoyed every little minute or our week-end with little Tella.  I can also tell you that I expected it to be the most exhaustive of our "grandkid" week-ends as after all she is only 5 years old and was going to require a lot more of our constant care and attention.  I wasn't sure how well she would sleep away from home either.  But as it turned out it was a cake walk.  She was obedient, sweet, loving, FUN, and slept soundly both nights with nary a peep out of her.  What fun we had.  She too arrived at bedtime Friday night and she popped right into bed without a word of complaint.  She woke by 6:15 which was just fine as grandma was up. She enjoyed her donut breakfast (her brother and sister had told her how this was all going to work! lol) and we made our plans on the day.  She ended up choosing to go to lunch and a movie over sewing, and let me tell you I was secretly soo pleased by that.  She wants soo desperately to work my machine, and at 5 I don't think she is really quite ready to even try.  I can barely run the thing, lol.  Plus, after sitting there over 5 hours on Friday, I wasn't really feeling much like it anyway.  Sooo we called and invited little Cody along (much to her delight!) and left pretty early to go and get her school clothes shopping done.  Now their mama does home school, but they spend two days a week at a charter school with other homeschoolers, and Tella will start KG this year.  Shopping with Tella was really quite fun.  She LOVES to shop (unlike the boys, haha) and had just as much fun as grandma looking over all the cute choices.  We got her a few darling little outfits, and a super cute pair of shoes.  When we finished with all of our shopping, we headed over to pick up Cody. He was soo excited to be going too.  Now we had two 5 year olds.  I honestly don't know which one of them was cuter on the day, or sweeter, or better behaved. Seriously they were just soo good.  After lunch at a fun, cute, 50 diner, we went and saw the 3D documentary about Lemur monkeys in Madagascar.  It was really good!  Caught and kept both of their attentions right away, and grandma and grandpa liked it too. After the movie we went back to Cody's house and took the kids swimming for an hour or so.  Jeffie joined in as well.  Then we let them play in the playroom for another 45 minutes or so before we finally headed back to our house leaving Cody behind.  Tella wanted pizza for dinner, so pizza it was for her and grandpa. Grandma had some chicken.  She was soo dozy after her ice cream that I gave her a quick bath and washed her hair and popped her into bed, and she was fast asleep by 7:45!  This gave grandpa and I some time to relax and watch one of our shows before heading into bed.  We both just enjoyed them both soo much!  How glad I am that their age didn't keep us from spending alone time with them.  This morning I got Tella ready in one of her new outfits and her new shoes and she looked as cute as could be.  She did great on the long drive to San Diego (grandpa let her play games on his I-pad) and after service we went to their house for lunch and relaxing.  All in all a really good week-end.  OF COURSE I have several darling little pictures to show you of our time...
