WEEK-END WRAP UP...

Well it December the 22nd and we are almost there aren't we?  lol  We had a good week-end full of fun with some of our grandkids and I hope you all had a good one too.  Sat. morning we got up and after breakfast I wrapped a few presents and got things ready and we were off to pick up my youngest son's 3 oldest kids for some holiday time with grandpa and grandma.  We met our son half way (or I guess his was a little over half...just saying, lol) so that neither one of us had to make the  entire long drive, and then we went and saw the movie Annie.  I have always loved that movie and the music from it and hoped that the kids would enjoy it too.  Here was the consensus from that.  Capri the 10 year old loved it.  JD the 8 year old boy found parts of it funny but it had W A Y too much singing grandma, lol. Donatella the 5 year old also enjoyed it but honestly didn't follow the story line totally and was a little tired of sitting still for it by the end.  It was kind of a long movie.  Grandma?  She loved it, lol. After the movies we didn't have much time before Capri and I got ourselves spruced up a bit to meet my sister and her 11 year old son for dinner and the Nutcracker.  I had originally planned on bringing the 5 year old as well but she wasn't sure she wanted to  do that and after our movie experience I thought it might be smarter to let her chose.  Capri and I had a WONDERFUL time though!  When you have as many grandkids as I do it is hard to get it in any one on one time with them (which is always the best in my opinion!) and I was glad to take advantage of this time with Capri.  She was just a total delight on the night.  We both enjoyed dinner (and our own delicious Pazzoki's for dessert) and the ballet was just soo fun.  I bought her a ballerina Christmas ornament as a souvenir but forgot to snap a picture of it.  Take my word for it though, it was BEAUTIFUL!  JD and grandpa enjoyed their evening watching the Charger football game while playing their own games of football on grandpa's i-pad.  Tella did get in a couple games of Candyland with grandpa before she dozed off watching a Christmas movie at not much past 7:30...she was a tired little girl apparently.   Yesterday morning was a bit of challenge getting the 3 little ones fed, packed back up and ready for church and on the road by 8:30, but we made it.  Church was wonderful as always and hubby and I left soon after service.  We came home after that and spent the rest of the day on the couch watching Christmas movies.  I am soo far behind on those this year, lol.  I do really enjoy them for some reason.

CAPRI AND I AT THE NUTCRACKER...THE ONLY PICTURE OF THE WEEK-END

Today I need to just pick up just a quick couple of things for the dinners we are going to, and wrap a couple of presents.  For the most part it will be a slow and easy couple of days before Christmas.  I hope you are all enjoying your celebrations and times.  I hope to get up one more post before Christmas.  Enjoy your days!  Blessings to all, Debbie

  1. Sounds like you had a great time with the grandkids. Nutcracker with your granddaughter sounds like fun. I'm hoping at some point to see Annie. I'll probably have to do it by myself or wait for it on DVD though. lol

I love watching Christmas movies too!

  4. If that's the only picture of the weekend, it's a great one! You both look so happy and at ease. I had read that the critics panned the movie Annie so perhaps two of the grands had a point. LOL! But who doesn't love a live performance of The Nutcracker?! I sure do! Enjoy the days that you have prepared for so well...my sewing room has smoke coming out its ears because I did not plan as well as you!

  5. What sweet memory making times. And, I"m sure it is difficult to get one on one time with each Grandchild. I cannot imagine having as many as you do. 3-4 will probably be as many as we'll ever have and that will keep us as busy as we can likely hold up too. :o)) Christmas blessings!

  6. What a wonderful weekend you had! So many precious memories made.

It's hard for me to get some one-on-one time with my grands, but when I do I cherish those moments, even if we don't do anything special.

Thankfully today is going to be a quiet day ... I need to rest up from our cookie baking yesterday. Surprisingly DD and I survived and other than a couple of minor mishaps (once again I forgot to bring the cookie press and had to ask DH to find it and bring it ... and I tried making a double batch of chocolate crinkles at the same time and had to make a quick run to the store to get more chocolate to make the two batches one at time - they're T#1's favorite cookie, so I HAD to make sure that they were good - ha!). We'll have Christmas with DD and her family tomorrow, with a nice quiet day with just the two of us on Christmas Day.
