CATCHING UP AGAIN....MOSTLY LOTS OF PICS!

Well here it is the first of December and Thanksgiving has come and gone, and I am FINALLY getting around to posting.  Now to be fair to me I did have company for a week, and my computer was in the shop as well, so there was some very legitimate reasons for the absence, but still...  But I'd better catch things up here before there just isn't any way I can as soo much goes on everyday.

My daughter and her family arrived a week ago last Tues., and truthfully I was beyond excited and pleased that they were here.  I hadn't seen the kids in almost 4 months, which with young kids such as hers is a L O N G time, lol.  Claire especially was really different.  She can say many words now, understands almost everything, and just seemed to be well on her way to not being an actual baby anymore.  The boys were soo happy to see us and very quickly were busy with all that is familiar to them here.  I keep 5 VERY FULL shelves of toys in our utility room year round for any grand kid who happens upon us to play with, and I replace and add new things all the time. (which they are all always eager to check out, lol).  I also have two cupboards full of games and older kid toys as well so there is always something for everyone to do at grandma's.  Honestly I will never be able to tell you all the activities that went on, the good times we had, the good food we ate, or mostly all the time spent snuggling, kissing and loving on those babies, but trust me I enjoyed every single little minute.  It was just a good visit.  We sat every night they were here up until quite late talking and visiting with Mike and Melody long after the kids were in bed too, and I cherish those times as well.  On Thanksgiving Day itself we were all kind of split up. Mike and Melody went to his grandmothers house (where he spent all of his childhood Thanksgiving dinners) James and his family were in the mountains with Larissa's family, John was at his wife's , and hubby and I went to my oldest son's house.  Everyone had a good meal and a good day.  But on Sat. we all gathered not only for dinner, but to just enjoy time together and to celebrate my oldest son's birthday.  He is (brace yourself!) 44 years old now!!  How can that possibly be when it seems I am barely out of my 40's myself?  lol Seriously though Joe does seem to be catching up, lol.  It too was SUCH a good day.  It will go down in the memory books for sure.  The kids not only got all of their PJ'S and Christmas ornaments I made them, but I actually got a picture of them in front of our tree.  I was almost giddy, lol.  The only thing I didn't get done before they all arrived was Joe and Leah's tree skirt, which I finished up yesterday.  I will give it to them Sunday after church, so it works out just fine since it will only be the 4th of December

Well that's about it for now.  I got A LOT of online shopping done today as well, so I am feeling kind of accomplished.  Only have a few more things to buy.  I have 3 birthdays in December to address as well.  2 grand daughters, and hubby's.  Busy..busy...busy.  Hope you are all well.  I will get around as much as I can now, as I have soo missed keeping up better with you all.  Blessings to you all! 1. Debby, Oh my goodness your grands are so cute and growing so much! Love all the pjs you made for them. I love seeing your home decorated, just wish you were next door to me! Girl, you have so far surpassed my quilting-it's amazing; I love the quilt you made last year and your quilting is perfect! I also collect Jim Shore ornaments and small items, but love that Nativity Scene; I got an angle this year! I would also love to have a Willow Tree Nativity Scene. I just can't believe we haven't met, maybe one of these days. Sending love your way my friend!

  6. Your pic of the kids in their pjs belong in a magazine. Too precious. Everything about your home and family is just beautiful. Your talent and energy are simply amazing. My mom made those little Christmas mice, too. Hers were gold. It's so sad that I don't remember what happened to them. .

  7. Such joy on all the faces of your adorable grands in their special pj's. What a keepsake. You house is just lovely but I have to agree with Lea. It tires me out thinking about having to take it all done. But I know you are and will enjoy it all month. I get the feeling the preparing is part of your joy of Christmas. Have a great weekend.
