MONDAY MUSINGS.....

Well it's Monday again so I decided to put up a quick post, even though I really don't have anything all that interesting, earth shattering, exciting, fun, different, informative, much to say.

Well first off we about floated away this week-end with all the rain we got.  Sooo different for us Californian's of course, and yet soo needed.  Truthfully even though I was out and about in it probably more then I should have been, and it was dreadfully inconvenient considering what we were doing, I DID enjoy it.  Sat morning Jeff (I've decided from now on to refer to my husband by his name instead of hubby, as truthfully hubby just isn't something I ever comfortable saying, lol, so just so you know in the future who Jeff is) had our usual Sat morning catch up and coffee and then headed out to help our oldest son a bit as he was moving his karate studio to a new location.  He did have several of his young men students who were helping out when they could too.  I have to guard Jeff as though he is still stronger then most men I know, he does tend to forget he is 65 years old now, and there are plenty of much younger men to do the heavy lifting, and his back just isn't what it used to be.  After one GIANT truck load was completed, we left and went to relax some at a movie.  We saw the Resurrection of Gavin Stone.  I am sad to say we were the ONLY ones in the theater, but happy to report, we both thoroughly enjoyed it.  The acting was really good, and the message of salvation was loud and clear.  I do wish more would see it, but somehow I have a feeling they won't.  But if you are looking for a GOOD Christian movie and entertainment, I'd recommend this.  We awoke Sun to a HUGE storm, and pretty cool temperatures, but decided after church to go back and help our son a little more as the amount of people helping had dwindled terribly do to the rain.  I ended up sitting in the car WATCHING them all run back and forth from the truck to the studio gathering the rest of the things as I was not only cold, but terrified I might fall or something worse.  But I was anxious to SEE the new studio so when we got to the new place I got myself inside and watched things going up from there.  It will be really good when it is all put together, and I think the move was a smart one.  By the time we practically swam back home, Jeff watched some recorded football, and I started dinner.  Poor Jeff was soaked and freezing.  I really hope he doesn't end up getting sick from the whole experience.
Other then that I have nothing new to report.  I did finish Vinny's pj's, and a new outfit for Capri.  I used a different company for the panel for the front of her top, and honestly I didn't like it as well as the other company I've been using.  However, I am thinking it might just be the particular design of this panel, so I MIGHT give them another shot.  Let me show you these things....

CAPRI'S OUTFIT....I REALLY HOPE SHE LIKES IT...THE SKIRT IS A LITTLE SHORTER THEN I NORMALLY MAKE FOR HER, BUT IT SHRANK A LITTLE MORE THEN I ANTICIPATED, AND I HAD ONLY ORDERED 1 YARD...IT WAS KIND OF PRICEY.  THE BACK OF THE TOP IS A SOLID BLACK LYCRA.

SAME FABRIC AS SAM'S PJ'S, AND SAME PATTERN AS LUKES...IT HAS GOT IT'S PERKS HAVING GRANDKIDS IN THE SAME AGE GROUP

I have added a new (to me anyway) devotional book to my devotions this year and I am thoroughly enjoying it so I thought I'd mention it here for those who might be interested.  It is New Morning Mercies by Paul Tripp.  And I've also started another new for me thing as well.  An online bible study by Lysa TerKeurst.  I have done some of her studies in the past and have always enjoyed them, so I decided to give this a try.  You get 2 teaching videos a week delivered to your email, and have a work book with daily homework to complete as well.  Melody and some other female family members are doing this too, and I think it is going to be really good.  The name of the study is Finding I Am.  It does enable you to listen and do the work when it works for you.  You do miss the fellowship you get from regular women's bible studies of course, but a few of us are going to text our thoughts in a separate place to try and remedy that a bit.  So far so good.  I am wanting to devote much more of my time in 2017 to the studying of God's Word.

Well that's about it for now.  Hope all of you are off to a good week.  Many blessings to you all!  Debbie....   Oh, I thought I'd share the following pic for you that I came across in cleaning out a drawer recently.  Scary really where I can STILL find things like this just randomly in a drawer. lol

THE LIGHTING AND COLORING ARE HORRIBLE HERE OF COURSE, BUT I THINK YOU GET THE IDEA.  THIS IS MY 3 SONS AND I BEFORE CHURCH ON EASTER SUNDAY YEARS AGO.  I WAS A MERE 29 YEARS OLD....LOOK AT THAT 80'S HAIR DO, LOL.  AND THE MISCHIEF YOU CAN KIND OF SEE ON THE FACE OF THE BOYS WAS VERY REAL LET ME TELL YOU.  BOY DID I HAVE MY HANDS FULL.  MELODY DIDN'T ARRIVE UNTIL A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER.  JAMES IS 4 IN THIS PICTURE, JOHN IS ALMOST 8, AND JOE WAS A VERY COOL 12, LOL.

  6. I love the photo of you and your sons. Handsome family there. The musical notes outfit is just precious. I hadn't heard anything about the movie you saw, but I will see where it is showing here. We went to see a movie called Lion, which was very good. I have been receiving emails and seeing on Facebook the study by Lisa. I just love her. I have a study of hers called Uninvited, which is very good.
