I SING BECAUSE I'M HAPPY

Today is Then Sings My Soul Saturday. This has been a very busy week for me as I'm sure it has been for many of you. I have many things I am trying to do and get done for Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving for many reasons. I love the gathering of family, I love the opportunity to think about all we have to be grateful for and all the many, many blessings that make up the stories of our lives. I even love the effort and time that goes into preparing a large meal for all of your loved ones and the sharing of the dishes that others bring. This year I am making a Thanksgiving apron for every lady that is coming for dinner. That means I have 12 to make! But this year I have found myself greatly hindered by my arthritis. It slows me down soo much and makes everything I do difficult. Yesterday morning as I was sitting in my comfy pink chair having my morning quite time with the Lord before the start of my busy day, my heart was heavy as I was hurting so bad and I had so much to do when I noticed that there were two tiny sparrows sitting right outside my window. They were hopping around so tiny and small looking for their breakfast no doubt, and I was struck by the thought that the Lord has eye even on these small sparrows and cares for them. How much more He loves and cares for us and has His eye on us.  Even down to knowing the number of hairs on our head!

Luke 12:7 But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

Luke 12:6 "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.

Suddenly I didn't feel overwhelmed, and I went about my day accomplishing much more than I thought I might. Today I sing because I'm happy, I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the Sparrow and I KNOW He watches me...Have a wonderful Saturday!

  1. Debbie,

I LOVE how the Lord used his sweet little creation to provide such amazing lessons to us...In HIS Word, in real life such as you have experienced here today!
Praying for your pain! I experience this every morning as well bc of my surgery and a possible lupus diagnosis. I choose to believe the Lord has healing covered for you and for me!

Bless you and have a beautiful weekend

  2. Hi Debbie, So glad you found joy in watching the small sparrows and applying it to your life. I don't have RA but have Osteo arthritis so I understand a little of your pain.
I hope you have a joyful weekend in Him. I love to sing too and it always lifts my spirits.
    Blessings to you.

  7. Oh, Debbie, I love this song, especially sung by this wonderful voice! I sing because I'm happy!!! I sing because I'm free!!! Hallelujah!!! We have so many birds in our neighborhood, and we often find nests in the trees and bushes, even in my hanging planters! I love watching them, and often think of that wonderful scripture...they are taken care of by MY FATHER!!!! Oh, he loves us so, doesn't He? Amazing Grace!!!

Thanksgiving will be a blessed time at your house, Debbie...enjoy every smile, every giggle, and have a wonderful sense of accomplishment as you give those aprons from the depths of your heart!

    God bless,
    Mary
