FRIDAY AGAIN!

Well here it is Friday again already....it has a been a fast week, but I feel good about my progress.

Wednesday morning before I left for shopping and before my sweet cleaning woman arrived, I finished up Capri's PJ'S.  I never did gather that energy Tues afternoon, lol.  I still managed to give myself a good hour to shop ~ which is about the extent I can push these knees anyway ~ before I had to meet my girl friend for lunch.  And such a successful trip!  I will attempt to explain.  I guess just have a strange body....finding clothes that I can bear the sight of me in is NOT an easy thing to do, never mind if they actually fit right and are comfortable as well.  ANYWAY....I found myself several ~ soo rare ~ good things, kept within my allowed budget, and scurried over to meet my friend.  We have been friends since we were 9 years old and NEVER seem to run out of things to talk about, and we hadn't seen each other in several weeks.  Two and half hours later we hugged good-bye and I left refreshed and relaxed and soo glad I took the time to go.  By the time I got home I only had about an hour or so to relax and enjoy my clean house ~ thank you Sandy! ~ and get a quick dinner together so that I could get out to Huntington Beach for Bible Study.  I have soo enjoyed this study.  It has been very insightful for me, and it has been good to gather together again with other women for fellowship, prayer, and discussions on our studies.  Thursday I spent at the machine again. I decided to put together a couple more sleep bags for the babies as with the weather change they both are really feeling the need.  And! fleece is on sale for 50 percent off right now, it only takes a yard to make one, I have TONS of ribbing ~ which is what the neck and cuffs are made of ~ already on hand as well.  Soo they are VERY inexpensive, and SUPER quick to make.  I can cut one out and have it completely done in under an hour. But it is these kind of decisions that get me off my scheduled plan, haha.  Let me show you the latest....

CHARGERS OF COURSE FOR VINNY!

THESE SEA HORSES AND CRABS WERE SOO CUTE FOR LUKE!

CAPRI'S PJ'S  WHICH WERE MADE AS THE SAME FABRIC AS DONATELLA'S...I THINK YOU CAN FINALLY SEE THE GLITTER
I saw this recently on pintrest I think it was,and found it amusing so I copied it.  Anyone who sews or quilts can totally identify I am sure.  I have had a LIFETIME love affair with fabric, so I found it amusing, lol

I forgot to mention that AFTER lunch with my girl friend I also ran by Joanne's and picked up a couple of things and managed to find some fabric for the teenaged grandkids of mine's PJ'S bottoms.   And meanwhile the long sleeved body suits for the babies have arrived, so now I have the 3 teenagers to go, the shirts for Melody's babies, one more sleep bag for Vinny, and the embroidery on the shirts.  And I have got only 2 weeks left!  And that last week I have got 3 doctor appointments as well!  Oh, and a hair appointment, and a nail appointment, so as you can see I am going to be on a rush, rush, feel.

Today, we are going out to Riverside National Cemetery to put my mother's and step dad's ashes in their final resting place.  They have been working and adding onto this cemetery for MONTHS now and it is finally ready.  We are all gathering out there today for that.  My son will do a very small little service, and then we will all go and have lunch together.  After lunch my sister's Diane and Danae and I are going to go to Joannes as they are having their veterans day sale and their soft and snuggle flannel fabric is all 50 percent off and I have a 25 percent off coupon on top of that making it practically free, lol.  I am going to do a ton of sewing ~ to include her nursery items ~ after Christmas for my niece Jessica's new baby, which is my sister Danae's first grandchild.  And this is the way to by fabric for such a project trust me.  Plus of course all I need is any old excuse to look at fabric as well, lol.

The weather here has been soo nice.  A little too warm during the day, but cools off DRAMATICALLY at night. Hope you all enjoy your week-ends, and spend time enjoying your families and friends!  Blessings to you all!  Debbie

  1. I love that quote. There was a time when it sure would have applied to me. You are doing such great work with your sewing projects. And, I can't think of a more fitting way to spend your sister time after being at the cemetery than shopping for something you all enjoy. We are having seasonal weather here but are anticipating the Artic front coming in next week to plunge us down into the 30-50 range. I love it! Have a great weekend and I'll see you again next week.

  3. So glad that you are getting all the PJs done. What a wonderful tradition. I wish I liked garment sewing more to do that for my grands. ;-)

  4. Wow! I came over to thank you for your visit at Thinking About Home yesterday...but I am blown away by all the sewing that you have accomplished! What a fantastic idea to make pajamas for all of your grandchildren. I am sure that they will LOVE them...even more knowing that they are handmade by their loving grandmother. I am a s-l-o-w sewer (well, actually I am slow at most things!) so I can't imagine how long it would take me to make eight sets of pajamas for my grands!

I am sorry for the loss of your mother and step-father. I hope that yesterday's service was meaningful.

  5. Mercifully, my so-called retired husband who often strolls through Joann's with me also believes in having stuff to work with. He never says a thing. Aren't the sales wonderful? And those coupons!

Love these sweet pajama sets! Your grands will be so warm and cozy.

Hope that all went well with the service and I know that your mother and step-dad were honored by a family who loved them well.

  6. I am so impressed with all that you can create in such a short period of time. I'm sure it is both enjoyable and theraputic since the passing of your Mom. She would be so, so proud of your work. I don't sew but I've been in the kitchen making fudge by the boatload! It's such fun for me this time of year and I don't even eat it. How crazy is that? Wishing you a lovely Lord's Day tomorrow.

  7. Cute, cute P.J.s I love that material. I am so impressed with how much you have got done. We were in Anaheim starting Thursday and I couldn't believe how warm it was. It does cool off nice at night but it was warmer there than here which i thought was interesting. You have made such great progress.
