MORE BUSY DAYS....

Well it is late Thursday afternoon and I have FINALLY finished up all of my embroidery projects (for now anyways, lol) and put all of those accessories away and decided to take a little break before cutting out tomorrows projects.  I am getting there....kind of slowly at this point, but getting there. Truthfully I have not felt well for a couple of weeks now.  My doc says it is a sinus infection but the antibiotics are not doing much to help.  It doesn't seem as if they do anymore.  But I am not a happy camper.  Not sick enough to say I am sick and take to my bed, but on the other hand, I just don't feel well either.  But! this is not want I want to blog about.  That's the problem with just sitting down and typing out what's on my heart.  I can be all over the place without ever really saying much at all.

I have ended up deciding, after MUCH prayer and talking it over with my hubby, NOT to drive down to San Diego to the Beth Moore Daniel study.  The reasons are many.  1.  It is soo far and with traffic, takes me a good hour and forty five minutes to get there. (not as long to get home as I rarely hit traffic then)  2.  I was not on time either time I did go which made me feel I was disrupting people when I arrived, AND it doesn't do me any good to leave earlier, as the earlier I leave the more traffic I hit, and the longer it takes.  3.  It cost about 30 dollars in gas to get there and back.  4.  It takes about 3 hours or more out of my day just in traveling time, and I have a lot I am trying to do right now.  But!!  the reasons FOR going were just as valid. 1.  The study itself is fantastic!  2.  The fellowship and discussion time with the other ladies in my church is wonderful, and I soo look forward to it.  3.  I get to see my two youngest grandkids for a little while, and have lunch with my son and his precious wife. 4.  I KNOW I felt the Lord TELLING me to do this study.  Soo, here is what I am going to do. Simply download the teaching video on my computer and do the study (and the 4 days of homework!) on my own.  I can alway discuss the video with my dil or the other ladies when I see them at church on Sundays.  And be grateful I get to see that set of grands and my son and his wife once a week anyway. I downloaded the study this morning and listened to it, and honestly week 3 may have been the best yet.  Soo meant for me!  And it only cost 4.99!  Not bad compared to 30 dollars worth of gas.

Other than yet, I have opened a new can of worms over here with the possibilities of framing embroidery.  I found some other scripture to frame that would be perfect to display at the shower, and then to give to Jessie for her nursery.  If she can't use them I am sure one of my girls could.  And if they can't, I am pretty sure I could sell them. And other than the price of the frames (at sale at Michaels) and the thread (which I already have!) and the fabric (which I have tons of) and the small price of the designs (around 3 or 4 dollars which are then permanently on my machine and I can use over and over again!) they are VERY inexpensive to make. I REALLY like doing these.  First of all, they are easy.  No worrying about getting it perfectly centered and positioned right like you have to with a shirt or a onesie, and I don't have to sit there and hold fabric like I have to do especially to do one of the onesies.  I can simply set the machine up and get up and walk away and do something else if I need to.  And then I just think they LOOK soo good.  And I love the idea of sitting scripture around the house.  Soo let me show you the new ones I have done, and hubby has framed. We make a good pair him and me!  : )

I LOVE THIS ONE...THE SCRIPTURE, THE PICTURE, THE ELEPHANTS, JUST EVERYTHING...SOO CUTE!

AND I ESPECIALLY LOVE THIS SCRIPTURE...BUT THIS DESIGN WAS POORLY DONE, AND I WILL NOT DO THIS ONE AGAIN.  YOU WOULD HAVE TO MACHINE EMBROIDER TO UNDERSTAND MY BEEFS, BUT I ACTUALLY WROTE TO THE DESIGNER TO COMPLAIN, WHICH I NEVER, EVER DO!

THIS ONE HAS NOT BEEN FRAMED YET OF COURSE, BUT WILL HAVE A KELLY GREEN FRAME.

ALL OF THESE PICTURES WILL BE DISPLAYED IN VARIOUS PLACES AT THE SHOWER, BUT THEY COULD BE HUNG ON A WALL EVENTUALLY IF SOMEONE WANTED TO,

And then I did a couple more onesies,  Some were for Luke, as it is easier to send home with Melody then to ship them to her.  Found some more cute designs.

THIS ONE IS FOR LUKE...CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS ALREADY 9 MONTHS OLD AND WEARING A 12 MONTH ONESIE.  THAT WENT SOO FAST.  LOVE THIS DESIGN!

THIS ONE IS FOR WESTON.  I LOVE THAT I CAN TAKE A DESIGN AND ENLARGE IT OR SHRINK IT DEPENDING ON WHAT I NEED TO DO.  THIS FIT LUKE'S 12 MONTH ONE, AND THIS 3 MONTH ONE FOR THE NEW BABY IN THE SAME WAY!

AND JESSIE'S HUBBY, THE NEW DADDY TO BE, IS A HUGE LAKERS FAN.  I FOUND THIS LOGO FOR 4.99!  I WAS ASTONISHED THAT YOU COULD BUY THEIR OFFICIAL LOGO FOR THAT LITTLE.  MOST OF THE OFFICIAL LOGS'S OF TEAMS OR CHARACTERS CAN BE VERY, VERY PRICEY!  I ALSO WAS ABLE TO GET THE LAKERS OFFICIAL COLORS IN THREADS.  WE HAVE MANY LAKERS FANS IN THIS FAMILY SO I HAVE A FEELING I WILL BE DOING THIS DESIGN AGAIN.  GLAD IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO STITCH!
So, I have only the nighties and one blanket to go.  Should finish up easily by next Tuesday Lord willing.  Which is good as I am going to put that thing away and take SEVERAL days away from the machine, lol.  We did listen to rain ALL night and it was wonderful.  I think the forecast is for 4 more days of rain, but so far today it has just been beautiful.  Hope you are all enjoying your week.  BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!  Debbie

I will leave with my favorite kid/grandkid pictures this week!

CODY AND HIS PRETTY MAMA LEAH

HAPPY LUKE

I AM TELLING YOU, IF THIS GUY GETS ANY HAPPIER, HE COULD BURST!

  1. Wow...what a lot you have accomplished. Wonderful framed embroideries, too. Yup, you could sell them. I'm glad that you figured out a good way to still do the Bible Study. Three hours in the car is a lot for a gal who is hurtin'. Those grands...adorable!

  2. I love it all, but my very favorite thing is the onesie with the "ta da!" That's adorable!

I totally see your point about the study. Sometimes, things just aren't prudent, and the drive doesn't sound prudent.

I'm going to stick my fat neck out and toss out another thought: Maybe you could host a small group to do that study in your own home. Just a thought...

Big fat neck sticking back out now. Ha!

  3. Debbie, the framed stitch work is beautiful and I really like your ideas for using them at the shower. You have been a very busy lady. And what can I say about those precious babies of yours. You are a very blessed grandmother.

  4. I have done a Beth Moore study like that at home before and enjoyed it. It gave me time to absorb it sometimes through tears.
Your work is just wonderful...I love every piece and so wished I could be sewing like that also. Enjoy, enjoy!

  5. Hi Debbie. Thank you SO much for your words of encouragement and prayers for my Mom. We are trying very hard to remain hopeful! I find myself praying, all the time.
Gosh, I think I may need a machine like yours! What fun you are having with it. And those framed scriptures are just wonderful! What a nice gift those would make. Love the onesies, and all of the logos and sayings. Your grands are all gorgeous!
Glad you can still take part in that study, by doing it at home. I would have to vote no on the driving too.
    XO Kris

  6. So glad that you are getting rain ... even if that rain moves our way and produces significant accumulations of freezing rain/ice/sleet/snow. ;-)

You are such a busy gal ... I'm in awe!

  7. Beautiful pictures Debbie, what happy kids. I love your designs. I think every one is so good. I really like the one that says ta da that is wonderful. I like all of your reason about the study and I didn't know you could get it all so cheap. That is amazing.
Well I am sure you will have a lovely weekend. I hope you are getting rain now.
It has finally started raining here. The wind is just starting to come up.

  8. Beautiful work, Debbie. You could see these, you know. That's what I am attempting with mine. So much fun. I do mine by hand though and it takes quite a while but I enjoy it. Your grandkids are the cutest!

  9. You are one awesome "Grandma" Debbie, and so talented too! Beautiful embroidery you have done. I love anything that has scripture written on it! So glad you got everything worked out to be blessed by Beth Moore's study!
I will be praying for your sinuses to be healed and that you feel better soon, been there and know that punky feeling.
    Much love,

  12. I was oohing and ahhing over all the little things you are creating. But then I got to the photos of those little ones and oh my ...priceless.

I wanted to tell you that you can take the Beth Moore Daniel study online. I did it at home. I found the videos on Lifeway.com. I bought each one when I was ready so you don't have to buy them all at once.

    Blessings and love,
    Debbie
