FEELING A LITTLE BEHIND!

Well suddenly (it seems) it is the 28th of Oct., and I am somewhat behind schedule.  And here I thought honestly I was starting in PLENTY of time, lol.  I think I just keep adding on unplanned things to make, figuring I was WAY ahead of schedule, so I really shouldn't be surprised I guess that I am not where I thought I might be.  My original goal was to have ALL of the grandkids pillowcases and Christmas pj's made by Halloween, and ALL of my Christmas quilts done as well, so that I could spend the month of Nov. maybe making some " extra" things I might want to do.  And just kind of coasting some, you know?  lol  Instead I am sure I will be on my frantic rush to get everything done as usual.  Oh well, somehow or another it always seems to get done Lord willing, and I refuse to fret about it.  (do I sound like I am listening to myself? lol). i guess I do have all of the Christmas quilts done, but I have yet to even start the Christmas tree skirt.  Meanwhile, I decided to make up the extra sleeper for Luke that I debated on before, and I made one up for Vincent as well.  They are just soo soft and comfy and fleece at Joannes has been soo inexpensive that it just seemed like I should. Babies can always use sleepers.  I had the pattern, thread, elastic, zippers, and ribbing on hand already, which meant these sleepers only coast me about 4 or 5 dollars to make.  Just can't beat that. Now if I had to add on all the other things I needed that wouldn't have been the case, but I didn't so that was my logic. They do seem kind of big, so I hope they fit.  Let me show those to you first...

THIS ONE IS LUKE'S...I HAD SOME OF THIS FLEECE LEFT OVER FROM LAST YEAR WHEN I WAS MAKING THEM THE SLEEP SACS, SO THIS ONE IS PRACTICALLY FREE, LOL

AND THIS ONE IS VINNY'S...HE IS SOO INTO ANYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH BALLS, THAT WHEN I SPOTTED THIS FABRIC I KNEW IT HAD TO BE HIS.  THIS IS NOT HIS CHRISTMAS ONE OF COURSE...JUST AN EXTRA, LOL

CAN'T SEE IT VERY WELL IN THIS PICTURE, BUT THIS IS THE GRIPPER PADS I PUT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SLEEPER SO THEY COULD WALK AROUND IN THEM WITHOUT FALLING DOWN.  I HAVE NEVER USED IT BEFORE, BUT IT WAS REALLY PRETTY SIMPLE.
I then I also made up Donatella's Christmas nightgown.  Her pattern is soo fast and easy that I am tempted to make her even more, but I am refraining, lol.

ALREADY HAD THE HOT PINK KNIT FOR THE CUFFS AND NECK, AND AM PLEASED THEY MATCHED SO WELL.

JUST A CLOSER LOOK AT THIS DARLING FABRIC...I LOVED IT!  SOO SOFT AND COZY TOO
And then I also finished up my fairy quilt.  I took several pictures on my good camera so that you could see it, but for some reason or another I can't seem to download them to my computer.  So you are stuck with my i-phone ones after-all.  And let me just say this up front...there is NO way you can really see the quilt good enough without the better camera.  I am VERY frustrated with my picture taking recently as I feel like all of my pictures are soo mediocre.  And then I see sooo many pictures here in blogland where the quality is SOOO good it seems as if they were taken by professionals...sigh.  Oh well, it is what it is....Let me show you the fairy quilt.

HORRIBLE LIGHTING, CAN'T SEE A THING SO IT IS SOMEWHAT POINTLESS TO POINT OUT ANY OF THE QUILTING...SIGH, OH, AND THE COLOR IS NOT REALLY VERY GOOD EITHER.

THE QUILTING REALLY MADE THE EMBROIDERY POP SO YOU COULD SEE IT WELL  I LOVED IT!

ONE OF THE FAIRIES

YOU CAN KIND OF SEE THE QUILTING HERE IN BOTH OF THE BORDERS.
Hopefully I will figure out soon what is going on with the download on my camera and I can show you some decent pictures,

And then I just wanted to share a couple of quick photos of sweet Sam who went to his very first dental appointment yesterday.  He was a very brave boy and did really well.  His mama had to leave the room (and stand in the hall so he could see her) while he got his first set of x-rays since she is pregnant, and he did soo good.

LOOK AT HOW LITTLE HE LOOKS!

BIG BOY!

HANDSOME SAM
Guess that's it for now.  I am going to try to at least get Capri's nightgown cut out and maybe even started before I get dinner together so I'd best get off  here and get cracking.  Hope you are all having good weeks.  It is soo pretty here.  Finally feeling like Fall.  Nice and cool at night and in the morning, in spite of the fact we are still nearing 80 during the day...sigh.

THOUGHT THIS WAS HILARIOUS FOR SOME REASON SO THOUGHT I'D SHARE
Blessings to you all!  Debbie

  4. Cute cartoon! Lol. Sam looks so little in that dentist chair. You have so much accomplished!!! I keep procrastinating. I'm making a sleeper but have to find ribbing that matches the blue background. Not easy, since there are about a zillion shades of blue. I used to sew grip pads on sleeper feet too. I think they're pretty necessary. Love your fabrics.

  5. Love the jammies!! I looked for a pattern similar to the ones you made, and they were out at Joann's. It was a McCall's pattern. But the sale was last week, so they were really depleted.
The quilt is gorgeous! Love the quilting on it. So pretty!
    Have a great day!!
