MONDAY CATCH UP.....

I am going to see how quickly I can get this up as I am anxious to get to my sewing machine this morning.  I take soo long to do these posts anymore that it is somewhat ridiculous, lol.  So I will apologize in advance if there are mistakes, as like I said I am going to hurry. (wink)

First of all I will tell a little about my week last week.  My  16 year old grand daughter Lindsey had some "chatting" with me she wanted to do so she popped over after school last Wednesday.  I love that she has a car now and a license that makes such a thing possible.  And I love even more that she enjoys talking and sharing her heart with me.  Anyway.....since she was coming over, and since I was anxious to see Beauty and the Beast, we decided to go and see that too.  I knew of course (who doesn't?) of all the controversy over this movie, but I will confess I really wanted to see it anyway.  It was definitely one of Melody's favorites growing up and I had seen the cartoon version to the point of almost memorization lol.  I WOULD have loved to see it with her, but I knew that was never going to happen, and seeing it with Lindsey was a treat as well.  Hubby was not to interested in seeing this, though I know he would have had I asked, but this no doubt helped him out too.  Anyway, Joyce over at From this Side of the Pond, has a wonderful review of this film and I couldn't improve on it if I tried, (and will save me time as well, lol) and I agree with it 100%, so you can pop over there and read about it if you are interested.  I will say this I LOVED IT!!  And so did Lindsey.  Because of the hype on it I did have on some pretty big critique glasses and noticed a tiny thing or two.  But if I hadn't been forewarned, it would have sailed right on over my head.  I  will probably see this again. After the movie we went to dinner and sat and talked and talked.  Like I have said many times before. I LOVE a teenaged girl.  I love hearing about their days, their dreams, their hopes and their joys. Goodness knows there is usually A LOT of drama involved in their lives as well, and lots of HARD HARD things to deal with too, but again, I am grateful that she is eager to talk and share with me.

I spent most of the rest of the week busy with all of my usual activities and of course at the sewing machine.  Let me show you last week's projects...

I MADE THIS PILLOWCASE FOR MY NIECE JESSICA'S SON WESTON FOR HIS THIRD BIRTHDAY WHICH WE CELEBRATED ON SAT.  HE IS TOTALLY INTO COPS RIGHT NOW (which was the entire theme of his birthday party) AND SO THIS FABRIC SEEMED PERFECT.  I ADDED HIS NAME FOR FUN OF COURSE

JUST A LITTLE CLOSER LOOK AT FABRIC AND NAME.  There is a LONG story about how I FINALLY found and got this fabric, but I will spare you and save me the time, lol.  Let me just say this...I LOVED this, and was glad it got here in time for me to make up
I ALSO MADE HIM SOME SUMMER PJ'S....FINALLY FOUND SOME "COP" FABRIC IN KNIT.  VERY HARD TO FIND I WILL ADMIT, BUT THOUGHT THIS WAS PRETTY CUTE

AND HERE'S ANOTHER PAIR...IN PAW PATROL.  WHERE THE PUPS ARE DRESSED AS COPS AND FIREFIGHTERS SO IT WORKED REALLY WELL WITH HIS LOVES AS WELL.

Then I am trying to finish up all the fabric I have for Melody's kids before we leave for our trip in 2 and half weeks so I made these up as well...

SOME SUMMER PJ'S FOR LUKE.  HE IS SOO IN LOVE WITH HIS MICKEY PJ'S I MADE HIM A WHILE BACK THAT MELODY HAS A HARD TIME GETTING HIM TO PUT ON ANYTHING ELSE.  I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT HE WOULD DO WHEN THE WEATHER BECOMES TOO WARM FOR LONG FLANNELS, SO I MADE HIM UP THESE IN A LIGHT WEIGHT KNIT FOR SPRING AND SUMMER
SOME MORE OF THAT LUSCIOUS FABRIC THAT I MADE THE LITTLE PLEATED DRESS OUT OF.  THIS TOP COULD BE WORN WITH THE LITTLE DIAPER COVER/BLOOMERS I MADE FOR THE DRESS OR.....
WITH THIS LITTLE PAIR OF CAPRI'S.  I WAS GOING TO MAKE A PAIR OF LEGGINGS BUT DIDN'T HAVE QUITE ENOUGH FABRIC LEFT TO DO SO, SO I MADE CAPRI'S INSTEAD.  I ADDED A LITTLE BIT OF ROUCHING ON THE SIDES AND ADDED A BOW TOO.  SOOOO CUTE.

CLOSER LOOK.  BLOWN UP LIKE THIS I SEE DOME THREADS I NEED TO CLIP.  I JUST KIND OF MADE THIS BOW UP SO DON'T LOOK REAL CLOSE AT THE UNEVENNESS OF IT, LOL

So far this has taken 25 minutes which isn't bad, but I need to hurry more so I will end with sharing some about the party for Weston we attended on Sat.  This niece is the one I've told you about before who is also my hair dresser.  She is EXTREMELY creative and talented and does up any party she gives with such complete detail it is amazing.  You would really have to see it all in person for a true appreciation of it, but I took LOTS of pictures so that my daughter Melody (one of Jessie's best friends) could see it all and kind of pretend she was there.  I will restrain from posting lots of them trust me, and I'll eliminate the videos I took to send her as well, lol......Let me show you...

MY SISTER'S BOSS GOT THIS FOR HIM....HE LOVED IT!

PHIL WESTON AND JESS

FOUND THIS LITTLE CARDBOARD PHOTO OPT THING  SOO FUN

SHE DREW AND DECORATED THE SCENE BEHIND THE TABLE...

THIS GREETED YOU UPON ENTERING WHERE EVERYONE COULD CHOSE WHAT THEY WANTED, AND THEN THERE WAS A LITTLE BAG OF GOODIES TO HELP DRESS YOU UP, LOL

THERE WAS A LITTLE TABLE SET UP TO ENJOY THIS TOO

CAKE TIME
MOST OF THE GROUP....TO INCLUDE THE HIRED "COP" ENTERTAINER WHO CAME AND ENTERTAINED US ALL HUGELY WITH GAMES, BALLOONS, AND FUN.  my sister Danae (Jessie's mom) is standing next to me.  I am the one in blue and white in case you didn't know, lol, she is next to me also in blue but wearing the glasses.

I decided to add a short little video of us singing happy birthday to him and him blowing out candles as it is soo cute.

Ok, this took me a little over an hour which is kind of fast for me, but still a lot of time so I am going to sign this and get off.  I am not checking it over and correcting mistakes, so hopefully there are not many.  Hope you all have a good week.  I am trying out 2 new patterns today (or hope to get to 2 anyway, lol).  Many blessings to you all....Leaving you with a couple of cute pics I want in my books...

LITTLE MISS CLAIRE....MEL POPPED OUT THE HOSE LAST WEEK DURING A HEAT WAVE THERE AND THE KIDS ENJOYED.  SHE IS JUST SOO CUTE AND GETTING TO BE AT SUCH A FUN AGE.  CAN'T WAIT TO SQUISH HER MYSELF.

IN CASE YOU DIDN'T SEE THIS ON INSTAGRAM...LOL...THIS IS MY OLDEST JOE AND HIS YOUNGEST CODY AT A DADDY AND ME DAY AT SCHOOL LAST WEEK!

  1. I am so glad you took the time to add a Monday update of your weekend. Oh that party looks like so much fun and what an adorable little "cop." Someone went all out on decorations to carry out the theme for sure. I bet Weston was thrilled with your special gifts. They are so cute. And of course Miss Claire is just a doll. You are truly a blessed mother and grandmother. I wish I was close enough to my granddaughters for spontaneous visits. Alas! Have a great week, Debbie.
